Introducing Shotlingo v2: Batch Export, Templates & More

We have been listening to your feedback, and today we are thrilled to announce Shotlingo v2 — the biggest update since our launch. This release is packed with features that our community has been requesting, all designed to make your screenshot localization workflow faster and more powerful.

What's New in v2

Batch Export for All Languages

The most requested feature is finally here. You can now export all localized screenshots for every language in a single click. Select your target languages, choose your export format, and Shotlingo generates every variation automatically. What used to take hours of manual export work now completes in seconds.

Batch export supports both App Store and Google Play naming conventions, so you can upload directly without renaming files. We also support custom naming patterns for teams with specific asset management workflows.

Community Templates

Starting from scratch is optional now. Our new template gallery features professionally designed screenshot templates created by the Shotlingo team and our community. Browse by category — gaming, productivity, social, e-commerce — and find a starting point that fits your app's style.

Each template is fully customizable. Swap colors, change fonts, replace device frames, and adjust layouts to match your brand. You can also submit your own templates to the community gallery and help other developers get started faster.

AI-Powered Translation Engine

We have integrated a new neural machine translation engine that delivers significantly better results for app-related content. The engine understands context — it knows that "Share" on a button is different from "Share" in a social media context, and translates accordingly.

The AI translation supports 40+ languages and includes specialized handling for technical terms, brand names, and UI-specific vocabulary. For Pro users, translations are saved to your project so you can refine them over time.

Multi-Page Projects

You can now manage multiple screenshot pages within a single project. This is perfect for apps that need different screenshot sets for different features or seasonal promotions. Switch between pages instantly and maintain consistent branding across all variations.

Improved Canvas Editor

The editor has received a significant upgrade:

  • Snap-to-grid: Precise alignment with smart guides

  • Layer management: Reorder, group, and lock layers

  • Background removal: AI-powered background removal for imported images

  • Rich text: Per-word styling, custom line height, and letter spacing

  • Undo/Redo: Full history support with keyboard shortcuts

Performance Improvements

Under the hood, we have rewritten the rendering engine for better performance. Canvas operations are now 2-3x faster, especially for projects with many text layers. Export times have been cut in half thanks to parallel processing.

We have also improved cloud sync reliability. Your projects save automatically and sync across devices, so you can start on your desktop and continue on your laptop without missing a beat.

What's Coming Next

Version 2 is just the beginning. Here is a preview of what is on our roadmap:

  • Video screenshot support: Create and localize app preview videos

  • Team collaboration: Share projects with team members and manage permissions

  • API access: Integrate Shotlingo into your CI/CD pipeline for automated screenshot generation

  • A/B test integration: Connect with App Store Connect experiments to test screenshot variations

We built Shotlingo to solve a problem we experienced firsthand as app developers — the pain of manually localizing screenshots for multiple markets. With v2, we are taking a huge step toward making that pain disappear entirely.

Try the new features today. All existing projects automatically benefit from the performance improvements, and Pro users get access to batch export and the full template gallery immediately.
