How I Built a Multi-Tenant B2B SaaS Boilerplate in Record Time with Drytis AI

Building a production-ready Multi-Tenant B2B SaaS application usually takes weeks of setup: configuring database-isolated schemas, handling authentication flows, building tenant management dashboards, setting up role-based access control (RBAC), and connecting billing hooks.

Recently, I decided to streamline this entire process using Drytis AIβ€”an AI-driven app development environment. Here is a breakdown of how I went from initial prompt to a fully deployed live product.

Multi-Tenant B2B SaaS Boilerplate Built Using Drytis AI

Here is the technical execution sequence derived directly from the Drytis AI studio chat history for building the Multi-Tenant B2B SaaS Boilerplate.

πŸ› οΈ Multi-Tenant B2B SaaS Execution Sequence

Phase 1: Environment Setup & Architecture Definition

Scaffolded Base App: Initialized a clean Laravel 11 (PHP 8.4) environment and configured environment variables (APP_KEY, MySQL database credentials).
Auth & UI Setup: Installed Laravel Breeze with Blade + Alpine.js, then generated the assets using Vite and Tailwind CSS.
Blueprint Generation: Generated initial .drytis architectural spec, schema definitions, and project scopes for audit and testing tracking.

Phase 2: Schema Migrations, Models & Tenant Isolation

Database Migrations: Executed database migrations creating subscription_levels, tenants, users (with tenant_id, role, status), invitations, entries, and activity_logs.
Tenant Isolation Trait: Implemented app/Traits/BelongsToTenant.php to automatically inject a global query scope filtering data by Auth::user()->tenant_id and auto-fill tenant_id on model creation.
Database Seeders & Factories: Created factories and seeders for subscription tiers (Free, Starter, Pro, Enterprise) and seeded demo tenants/users.

Phase 3: Core Business Logic & Security Policies

Provisioning Service: Created TenantProvisioningService to wrap tenant creation, owner creation, and default subscription assignment into atomic DB transactions.
Role & Activity Middleware: Configured EnsureUserIsActive and RequireRole middleware to restrict feature access based on roles (Owner, Admin, Member).
Policies & Controllers: Built EntryPolicy and SubscriptionPolicy alongside controllers handling onboarding, dashboard metrics, entry CRUD operations, member invitations, and subscription plan management.

Phase 4: UI Development & Authentication Routing

Landing & Onboarding UI: Built custom views for the welcome landing page and tenant registration form (company name, size, admin details).
Tenant Dashboard & Views: Implemented responsive dashboards showing tenant configurations, usage stats, subscription tiers, member lists, and role-appropriate actions.
Authentication Safeguards: Updated authentication flows to block deactivated accounts at login and enforce tenant isolation during authentication.

Phase 5: Automated Testing & Verification

Test Suite: Built unit and feature tests covering tenant scope isolation, role-based permissions, cross-tenant data access prevention, and onboarding flows.
Test Execution: Resolved test configuration issues and verified the entire test suite (56 tests / 138 assertions passed).

Phase 6: Infrastructure & Deployment

Infra Audit: Resolved configuration checks (like environment keys and phpunit.xml settings) and ensured static assets compiled properly (npm run build).
Live Deployment: Processed the deployment via Caddy (php_server), reseeded the database state, verified HTTP status codes, and published the live instance.
