I keep coming across interesting projects on GitHub.
But even after reading about a repository, one question often remains:
What can this actually do for the project I’m working on?
We recently looked at the open-source X algorithm. Understanding the code was one part.
Figuring out whether it could help our own social strategy—and what we could realistically test—was another.
That made me think:
What if a browser extension could look at a GitHub repository and explain:
• Where it might help with your project
• What it would take to use
• What its limitations are
• What still needs to be tested
Some tools already explain repositories. I’m curious whether making that explanation more relevant to your own work would make a difference.
Have you faced this? What would you want the extension to tell you first?
