I’ve had plenty of leftover code, small tools, and half-finished projects sitting around on GitHub or my hard drive. They were useful ideas, but never fully launched.
I wanted a way to share them with others, make them accessible, and maybe even help someone save time or get inspired. That’s how Sidecrate came to life - a marketplace for developers’ side projects.
Here’s what it allows developers to do:
- 🌟 Share small or unfinished projects
- 🌐 Showcase live demos with free hosting (HTML/CSS/JS/PHP)
- ⚡ Discover ready-to-use code and tools from other developers
- 🛠 Deploy projects quickly using a simple CLI
It’s not about selling for the sake of selling - it’s about giving your code a second life, learning from building a platform, and helping the developer community.
If you’ve ever had projects lying idle, it’s worth thinking about ways to share them with the world for even a symbolic amount - like a cup of coffee - and let someone else benefit from your work.
You can see an example of how it works on Sidecrate
