How to stay current on AI without drowning: a 2-minute daily system

The AI world changes hourly. The problem was never a lack of information — it's that more information now costs you focus.

Here is the system I use (and the product it turned into).

1. Stop following the firehose

Pick one input per domain, not twenty:

  • Code trends → GitHub stars/rising
  • Model landscape → Hugging Face trending
  • Deep dives → one YouTube channel/programmer you trust
  • Industry context → one Silicon Valley/industry feed

If an update isn't worth reading in 2 minutes today, it wasn't important yesterday either.

2. Force a "top of the pile" view

For each domain, ask: what's #1 right now? The #1 repo, the #1 model, the freshest relevant video, the biggest story. A "top of the pile" view gives you signal without a ranking obsession.

3. Always keep the original link

Secondhand summaries drift. Keep the ability to jump to the original source — publish time and publisher tell you more than a clickbait headline ever will.

4. Make it daily and automatic — then delete the tabs

Consistency beats intensity. A daily 2-minute pass, automated, replaces hours of anxious tab-opening. If your system requires willpower, it will fail on busy days.
