I Tested 6 Google Trends Scrapers So You Don’t Have To — Here’s What Actually Works in 2026

I’m not running a big agency.

It’s just me, one freelance writer, and way too many Google Sheets that I keep promising I’ll organize “next week.”

But every Monday morning, I used to waste 2 hours before writing anything.

  • Open Google Trends
  • Find what’s trending
  • Check news
  • Think of angles
  • Research keywords

By the time I actually started writing… half my day was gone.

So I started testing tools to automate this.

Some were great.
Some were painful.
Some just didn’t work.

Here’s the honest breakdown 👇

⚡ Quick Comparison

Daily Trend Intelligence (Apify)
👉 Best for: Daily content planning
👉 Problem: Ideas feel slightly templated

Pytrends
👉 Best for: Developers / raw data
👉 Problem: Breaks + rate limits

SerpApi
👉 Best for: Reliable API
👉 Problem: Expensive

Glimpse
👉 Best for: Search volume + forecasting
👉 Problem: Not for daily content

Outscraper
👉 Best for: Keyword lookup
👉 Problem: You still need to find trends manually

Exploding Topics
👉 Best for: Long-term trends
👉 Problem: Not useful for daily posting

1. Daily Trend Intelligence (Apify)

This is the one I actually kept using.

You select a country → it gives:

  • Trending topics
  • Related news (filtered)
  • Blog title ideas
  • Social captions
  • SEO keywords
  • Posting time suggestions

👍 What I liked

  • News filtering is solid (no spammy sources)
  • Detects live events → suggests posting immediately
  • Covers multiple countries
  • Extremely cheap

👎 What’s not perfect

  • Ideas feel slightly templated
  • No historical data

💡 Best for

If you want “what should I post today?” → this solves it.

2. Pytrends

Most devs recommend this first.

Free. Flexible. Powerful.

But… unreliable.

👍 What I liked

  • Free
  • Full control
  • Direct Google Trends access

👎 Problems

  • Breaks randomly
  • Rate limiting issues
  • No content help (only data)

💡 Best for

Developers who don’t mind fixing things.

3. SerpApi (Google Trends)

Very clean API.
Very reliable.

But expensive.

👍 What I liked

  • Stable
  • Clean JSON
  • Great docs

👎 Problems

  • Costly
  • Only data (no insights)

💡 Best for

Teams that need reliability > cost

4. Glimpse

Started as a Chrome extension.
Adds real search volume to Trends.

Now also does forecasting.

👍 What I liked

  • Trend prediction is powerful
  • Good for SEO research

👎 Problems

  • Not built for content workflow
  • No news / ideas

💡 Best for

SEO + market research

5. Outscraper

No-code tool.
Easy to use.

But… you still need keywords first.

👍 What I liked

  • Simple UI
  • Clean exports

👎 Problems

  • Doesn’t discover trends

💡 Best for

When you already know what to search

6. Exploding Topics

Amazing tool.
Finds trends early.

But not for daily use.

👍 What I liked

  • Finds trends before they go viral

👎 Problems

  • Not for daily content

💡 Best for

Long-term strategy / product ideas

🚀 What I Use Now

I use Daily Trend Intelligence every morning.

My workflow now:

  1. Run tool (1 min)
  2. Pick 2–3 trends
  3. Use title + keywords
  4. Start writing

That’s it.

From 2 hours → 5 minutes.

🧠 How to Choose

Ask yourself:

  • Want raw data? → Pytrends / SerpApi
  • Want content ideas? → Daily Trend Intelligence
  • Want future trends? → Exploding Topics / Glimpse

Also:

  • Free tools = unstable
  • Paid tools = reliable

Choose your tradeoff.

🏁 Final Verdict

  • Best for content creators: Daily Trend Intelligence
  • Best free dev tool: Pytrends
  • Best reliable API: SerpApi
  • Best for forecasting: Glimpse / Exploding Topics
  • Best for quick research: Outscraper

If your goal is simple:

👉 “Mujhe aaj kya post karna hai?”

Then you need a tool that gives direction, not just data.
