**# I Built SHANTAKARAM — A Web App for Taking a Break From a Stressful Day
After spending time building web apps, I wanted to create something that wasn't about productivity, work, or getting more things done.
I wanted to build something for the opposite:
A small place where you can simply pause.
So I built SHANTAKARAM — Endless Peace.
Relax your mind. Let the day go.
🌿 What is SHANTAKARAM?
SHANTAKARAM is a relaxation web app designed for those moments when your mind feels overloaded after work, study, or a long day.
The idea is simple:
Open → choose what feels right → relax → let the day go.
It includes calming sounds and interactive relaxation experiences designed to give users a simple way to take a break.
🎧 What I focused on
One of the biggest things I cared about was making the experience feel different from a typical productivity app.
I wanted it to feel:
- Calm
- Simple
- Comfortable
- Interactive
- Easy to use
- Accessible from the browser without installing anything
I also spent a lot of time working on the sound experience because I didn't want every relaxation option to feel like the same sound with a different name.
🛠️ Building it
I built SHANTAKARAM as a web application and focused heavily on the user experience, responsive design, interactions, and making the experience comfortable on both mobile and desktop.
The project also gave me a chance to experiment with building a more sensory type of web experience rather than a traditional dashboard-style application.
🚀 Try it

It's currently available to try for free.
💬 I'd love feedback
This is the part I'm most interested in.
If you try SHANTAKARAM, I'd love to know:
- Which experience did you try first?
- Did the sounds feel different enough?
- Was anything confusing?
- What would make you want to come back tomorrow?
- What feature would you add?
I'm building this for real users, so honest feedback—positive or negative—is genuinely useful.
Thanks for checking it out. 🙏
