Real Estate CRM: Visualizing Your Pipeline in HomeNex

Visualizing Your Pipeline: The New Feature in HomeNex

Problem: A Fragmented View of Property Progress

For real‑estate agents in India, juggling dozens of listings, multiple buyers, and a flurry of communication channels can quickly become overwhelming. Traditional CRM dashboards often present data in static tables or lists that require manual filtering to understand which properties are in negotiation, which are under offer, and which need follow‑up. Without a clear, at‑a‑glance view, agents spend valuable time scrolling through records and risk missing critical touchpoints.

Solution: Animated Pipeline Visualization on the Landing Page

HomeNex addresses this pain point by introducing an animated pipeline visualization that appears immediately when an agent lands on the platform. The component is built with React and leverages Node.js on the backend to fetch real‑time status updates from PostgreSQL. It maps each property to a stage in the pipeline—“Lead,” “Qualified,” “Negotiation,” “Offer,” “Closed”—and animates the movement of cards between stages as status changes occur. The animation is lightweight and runs in the browser, ensuring a smooth experience even on mobile devices.

The visualization is not just decorative; it is fully interactive. Clicking a property card opens the detailed property view and the associated WhatsApp chat, thanks to the integrated WhatsApp Business API. Agents can drag a card to a different stage if they need to manually adjust a status, and the change propagates back to the database instantly. This bidirectional sync ensures that the pipeline remains accurate whether updates come from the web interface or from messages received via WhatsApp.

How It Works Under the Hood

At its core, the pipeline uses a simple data model: each property record contains a stage field and timestamps for each transition. The server exposes a RESTful endpoint /api/properties/pipeline that returns a JSON array of property objects grouped by stage. The React component consumes this endpoint and renders the stages as columns. The animation is driven by CSS transitions that shift cards horizontally when the underlying data changes. Because the component listens to a WebSocket channel provided by the Node.js server, any update—whether it comes from a WhatsApp message, a manual edit, or an automated script—triggers a re‑render without a full page refresh.

Security is handled through the new Google/GitHub/Microsoft SSO login added in the same commit. Once authenticated, the agent’s session is tied to a unique agent_id that scopes the pipeline data to their listings. This ensures that agents only see the properties they manage, keeping sensitive client information protected.

What It Looks Like to Use

When an agent logs in, the landing page loads with the animated pipeline centered. The first column shows new leads that have just been added to the system, highlighted in a bright color. As the agent clicks on a lead, a tooltip appears with quick actions: “Send WhatsApp,” “Schedule Visit,” or “Mark as Qualified.” If the agent receives a WhatsApp message that indicates a buyer’s interest, the backend updates the property’s stage, and the card slides smoothly into the “Negotiation” column.

The visual design follows the new DoAide Realty branding introduced in the same commit. The pipeline uses a clean, minimalist color palette that aligns with the platform’s overall aesthetic. On mobile, the columns stack vertically, and decorative elements are hidden to preserve screen real estate. The layout is responsive, ensuring that agents can monitor their pipeline from a phone while on the move.

Impact on Agent Workflow

By consolidating property status into a single, animated view, agents can:

  1. Reduce Cognitive Load – No more hunting through tables; the pipeline shows everything at a glance.
  2. Accelerate Decision‑Making – Immediate visual cues (e.g., a red “Closed” column) alert agents to urgent follow‑ups.
  3. Integrate Communication – Clicking a card opens the corresponding WhatsApp conversation, bridging the gap between the CRM and the messaging channel.
  4. Maintain Data Integrity – Real‑time updates via WebSocket and the SSO‑secured session prevent stale data and unauthorized access.

The feature is part of a broader set of enhancements in HomeNex, including SSO login, analytics tracking, and viral growth tools. Together, these updates position HomeNex as a comprehensive WhatsApp CRM that meets the unique needs of Indian real‑estate agents.

Future Enhancements

HomeNex plans to extend the pipeline visualization with predictive analytics. By analyzing historical conversion rates per stage, the system will suggest next‑best actions and forecast closing dates. Additionally, the team is working on exporting pipeline snapshots to PDF, allowing agents to share progress reports with clients or partners.
