Hey, it’s me again… it’s been a long time since I posted here. Today I have a spicy topic: AI in Product Design.
Is AI going to take our jobs?
Today, I wanted to share with you how I use AI in my design process, and how I am using Claude and Lovable.
In the past few months, I’ve been working on some product projects, and I included Claude and Lovable in my design process.
My design process changed in a good way. I decided to start designing projects with Claude before I jump into Figma. Using Claude and Lovable helps me improve faster and create different designs, concepts, and flows.
It’s not just the interface or layout; with Claude, I am able to prototype the behavior.
Some Benefits:
- Reduce the risks before spending days or weeks designing the UI.
- Allow teams to be involved in early stages.
- Create new ideas or experiments and turn them into tangible concepts.
How I Use Claude:
I use it as a first step to create new solutions and proposals. For example, I design some ideas for landing pages and dashboards.
Claude is useful for:
- Organizing ideas, and generating variations and flows.
- Creating wireframes or a navigation structure.
How I Use Lovable:
I use Lovable when I need a high-fidelity or final project. This means when I need a design that is closer to the final product or can even be the final design itself.
For me, Lovable is what can replace Figma for the design of functional applications.
And no, it’s not about stopping the use of Figma (it's still an incredible tool), but rather about integrating other ways of thinking and developing ideas before moving to the final interface
In one day, I can have a prototype for the team without spending a lot of time designing screens on Figma.

Is AI going to take our jobs?
This is the question I see every day on LinkedIn, YouTube, and other platforms. Nowadays, there are many AI design tools. The important part is that as designers, we can include these tools in our design process, but they do not replace our knowledge.
AI does not replace our criteria, empathy, and business comprehension.
For example, I designed a dashboard in Claude and noticed that some components and behaviors were not what we needed for our users. My criteria are so important in these kinds of decisions.
As designers, we should be:
- Critical of what we generate.
- Curious to explore new tools.
- Aware of the problem we are solving.
Because you can have a thousand prototypes ready, but if they don't solve anything real, they are of little use.
Do you use any AI tools in your design process?
