Is there a Google Ads Transparency Center API? What exists in 2026, and how to export the data

The Google Ads Transparency Center (adstransparency.google.com) shows the search, display and YouTube ads any advertiser is running. Naturally, people want that data in a spreadsheet, a dashboard or a Slack alert. So: is there an API?

Short answer: not an official one for commercial ads. Google's Ads API support team has said publicly that the Google Ads API has no endpoint for the Transparency Center. Here's what does exist. Disclosure: we (SureSignal) built the tool in option 3.

Option 1: The website (free, manual)

Search an advertiser name or a website domain. Domain search also finds resellers and affiliates sending ads to that site. You can filter by region, format and date.

Good for: a quick look at one or two competitors.
Not good for: tracking 20 advertisers, exporting creatives, or spotting what's new since last week.

Option 2: Google's BigQuery public dataset (free tier, limited coverage)

Google publishes a BigQuery dataset called google_ads_transparency_center, with a creative_stats table. It's real and useful, with some limits:

  • It covers advertisers that served ads in the European Economic Area or Turkey. Ads that only ran in, say, the US may be missing.
  • It updates periodically and can lag behind the website.
  • You need a Google Cloud project and some SQL.

Good for: EU-focused research and large-scale analysis.

Option 3: A scheduled export that only returns new ads (paid)

The Google Ads Transparency Center Scraper & Competitor Ad Monitor on the Apify Store reads the public Transparency Center pages and exports each ad as a row. No Google account, API key or cookies needed.

You can search by:

  • domains, e.g. competitor.com (finds every ad pointing to that site),
  • advertiserNames or advertiserIds (the AR... ID from the advertiser's URL),
  • keywords, which find the top matching advertisers. Google's library searches advertisers, not ad text.

Each row includes the format (text, image or video), first and last shown dates, days shown, the ad image or the YouTube link for video ads, and the Transparency Center link.

  "domains": ["competitor-one.com", "competitor-two.com"],
  "region": "US",
  "adFormat": "ALL",
  "maxAdsTotal": 300,
  "onlyNewAds": true,
  "monitorName": "weekly-competitors"
}
Enter fullscreen mode Exit fullscreen mode

With onlyNewAds on (the default), the tool remembers which ads it already sent you. Schedule it weekly, and each run returns only ads this monitor hasn't seen.

Cost: $0.012 per ad delivered ($12 per 1,000). The optional per-ad details (the countries an ad ran in, and how many variations it has) are $0.003 per ad. maxAdsTotal caps every run.

Which one should you use?

  • One-off look? The website.
  • EU research in SQL? BigQuery.
  • A recurring list of competitors' new ads in Sheets or Slack? Option 3.

What no option can give you

Google doesn't publish spend, bids or targeted keywords for commercial ads. Be wary of any tool that claims to get those from the Transparency Center.

Try it: Google Ads Transparency Center Scraper & Competitor Ad Monitor on the Apify Store. Built by SureSignal. You only pay for ads you haven't already received.
