How to Turn a Browser Workflow Into a Portable SKILL.md for Claude Code and OpenClaw

Most teams still capture browser process in Loom videos, SOP docs, or prompts they keep rewriting.

That is fine for one demo. It is terrible for reuse.

What I actually want in an agent stack is a portable artifact:

record the workflow once → extract a reusable SKILL.md → let different agents run it later

That is the core idea behind SkillForge.

Why this matters

If you are already using Claude Code, OpenClaw, Codex, or another agent stack, the bottleneck usually is not model intelligence.

It is workflow capture.

The hard part is turning “watch me do this in the browser” into something an agent can reuse without you re-explaining every click.

The problem with prompt-only automation

Prompt-only browser automation breaks in familiar ways:

  • the important step was never written down
  • the prompt hides tiny browser details that only show up in the demo
  • the workflow gets trapped in one runtime
  • the next teammate or agent starts from scratch

A screen recording is evidence.

It is not yet reusable operational knowledge.

What I think a better workflow looks like

A better workflow is:

  1. demonstrate the task once
  2. extract the goal, ordered steps, and edge cases
  3. output a reusable SKILL.md
  4. run that skill again with whatever agent stack you prefer

That is much more interesting than another one-off macro.

Where this is useful

This pattern is especially useful for:

  • repeated browser tasks for ops or growth teams
  • QA checklists
  • onboarding workflows that usually live in Loom links
  • agent builders who want repeatable browser behavior without hand-authoring every step

Why I built SkillForge

I kept seeing the same problem:

teams had the workflow, but it only existed as a video, a doc, or one person’s memory.

So I built SkillForge to turn that demonstrated workflow into a reusable AI-agent skill.

If you want to try the idea:

If you are already building with Claude Code or OpenClaw, I would especially love to know which browser workflows you repeat most often.
