Title: Why Browser-Based Design Tools are the New Industry Standard

For years, high-end visual effects were locked behind expensive desktop software and steep learning curves. However, the advancement of WebGL and the Canvas API has changed the landscape entirely. Today, we can achieve complex distortions and retro aesthetics directly in the browser without dropping a single frame.

As I’ve been developing Glitch Studio, a tool specifically for retro digital art and glitch effects, I’ve noticed a significant shift: users prioritize instant accessibility and real-time feedback over 'pro' bloatware. We are reaching a point where the web can finally handle the heavy lifting of niche aesthetic creation.

I'd love to hear from other front-end developers: What are your thoughts on the performance limits of the browser for visual editors? Are we at a point where we can truly replace desktop suites for specialized design tasks, or is hardware acceleration still a bottleneck?
