Apple shipped iOS 27.2 on October 26, and the security notes are the part worth a closer look if you build for or manage Apple devices.

Security

  • Fixes tied to 163 tracked CVE identifiers, across Apple Intelligence, Mail privacy, WebKit and kernel components.
  • More than 30 of them are WebKit flaws and around 15 are kernel issues. Apple says it has no knowledge of any being exploited in the wild.
  • Researchers at Calif say most of the bugs behind their iOS 27.0.1 jailbreak are now patched, though it isn't documented in enough detail to say all of them are.

Siri advanced processing

  • Beta support for Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese, on top of English.
  • A memory feature that can pick up earlier conversations, plus a new "Excluded Apps" setting to choose which apps Siri, Search and suggestions can access.
  • Requires iPhone 15 Pro or later, and it won't be available at first in the EU or mainland China.

Practical takeaway: with this many WebKit and kernel fixes, it's a good update to roll out early on test and managed devices.
