LazyList AI: A Little Help for Overwhelmed Days

Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 3: Slow and Steady Submission 🦥

This is a submission for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 3: Slow and Steady

What I Built

LazyList AI is an AI-powered task planning assistant designed for days when your to-do list feels longer than your energy.

Instead of trying to do everything at once, users can organize their pending tasks into smaller, more manageable steps.

The goal is simple: make productivity feel less overwhelming.

LazyList AI is designed to help users:

Organize pending tasks into a manageable plan.

Break larger tasks into smaller steps.

Make planning feel more approachable on low-energy days.

Track progress and stay focused with productivity features.

Because being productive shouldn't mean exhausting yourself.

How I Built It

I built LazyList AI using Google AI Studio to develop the application and its user interface.

The project includes a task-planning interface, energy-aware planning concepts, smaller actionable steps, and productivity features such as progress tracking and a focus timer.

My goal was to build something practical around open-source AI rather than create another generic chatbot.

The project is intended to use Gemma, an open-weight AI model, for its planning capabilities. The model integration and deployed API flow need to be verified to ensure the live application is successfully using Gemma.

Why Does Open Innovation Matter?

Open innovation gives developers the opportunity to explore AI beyond closed, proprietary systems.

Open-weight models such as Gemma make it possible to experiment with model integration, understand how AI-powered applications are built, and create tools that can be inspected and extended by the developer community.

For a student developer, this is especially valuable. It creates an opportunity to learn by building, experiment with modern AI, and share the resulting code with others.

LazyList AI is my small step toward building useful applications with open AI technologies.

The Lazy Payoff

The idea behind LazyList AI is to spend less mental energy figuring out what to do next and more energy taking the next manageable step.

I haven't measured actual time savings yet, so I won't claim a specific number. The goal is to make task planning simpler and less overwhelming.
