This is a submission for "Frontend Challenge - Comfort Food Edition, Perfect Landing" (https://dev.to/challenges/frontend-2026-07-29)
What I Built
I built Dastarkhwan, an interactive landing page celebrating Pakistani comfort food and the memories connected to it.
The idea is simple: some meals do more than fill you up. They take you home.
Visitors can choose how they're feeling and get a comfort-food recommendation based on their mood. The site also features Biryani, Nihari, Daal Chawal, and Paratha & Chai.
I wanted the experience to feel warm, nostalgic, and welcoming while keeping it simple, responsive, and accessible.

Journey
I wanted to create something more personal than a typical restaurant landing page, so I chose Pakistani comfort food and the memories connected to it.
I built Dastarkhwan with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, focusing on responsive design, accessibility, and simple interactions.
I'm especially proud of the mood-based dish selector and how the visual design brings together food, memories, and a feeling of home.
AI tools were used during the development process for brainstorming, debugging, and development assistance.
