I Audited 10 GEO / AI Search Visibility Tools So You Don't Have To — Here's the Matrix

GEO tooling is a gold rush right now, and most vendors are happy to tell you they "track LLMs" without specifying which ones, how often, or whether they actually fire live queries. I spent three days clicking through dashboards and pricing pages to build the comparison matrix that should already exist.

Eight dimensions matter. Definitions first, so we're all measuring the same thing.

Column glossary:

  • Pricing — lowest publicly-listed paid tier (monthly)
  • Tracked LLMs — named AI models, not "AI engines" handwaving
  • Query vol. — prompts/queries included at entry tier
  • Mention scoring — structured numeric score vs. raw boolean mentions
  • Citation analysis — URL-level (exact page cited) vs. domain-level (root domain only) vs. none
  • Prompt simulation — live query execution against actual LLMs vs. estimation/caching
  • Reporting — dashboard-only / exportable / white-label
  • API — public REST API, any tier

The Matrix

Peec AI €85/mo 7 base (+add-ons €20–30 ea.) 50 prompts ✅ Position + sentiment ✅ URL-level ✅ Live (UI scraping) ✅ Exportable ⚠️ Undisclosed

Visiblie ⚠️ Opaque 1 (Starter) → 8 (Enterprise) ⚠️ Restricted ✅ Sentiment + accuracy ⚠️ Domain-level ⚠️ Unclear ✅ 12-mo history ✅ Enterprise only
Rankscale ~$20/mo 3 (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) 120 credits ✅ Share of Model ✅ URL-level ✅ Live ✅ Looker Studio ✅ Public REST API
LLM Pulse €49/mo 5 base (+4 Enterprise) 50 prompts ✅ Visibility + SoV ✅ URL-level ✅ Live ✅ Looker Studio ✅ Public
Search Atlas $199/mo* ⚠️ Undisclosed ❌ Undisclosed ✅ Via QUEST tool ⚠️ Domain-level ⚠️ Unclear ✅ White-label ✅ Public
Topify.ai $99/mo 4 (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Overviews) 100 prompts ✅ 7-metric score ✅ URL-level ✅ Live ✅ Exportable ✅ Pro+

*Search Atlas: AI visibility requires Growth tier ($199/mo). Starter does not include LLM tracking.

Per-Tool Breakdown

Profound — The enterprise incumbent. Front-end capture across 10+ LLMs means it reads actual user-facing responses, not API outputs. Downside: $499/mo entry and zero query volume transparency on lower tiers. G2 Leader Winter 2026. If you have the budget, it's earned.

Otterly.ai — Cheapest seat at the table. $29/mo for 15 prompts across 6 platforms. Citation analysis is domain-level only on Lite; no public API. The GEO audit feature does a SWOT framework per brand — legitimately useful, not just badge art.

Peec AI — €85/mo base with 7 LLMs; additional models cost €20–30/mo each. The UI scraping approach simulates real user interactions rather than hitting model APIs, which gets you closer to what users actually see. Raised $29M at $100M+ valuation — pricing creep is probably coming.

AthenaHQ — $249/mo entry. What earns it: a revenue attribution layer that traces AI citations to e-commerce conversions via Shopify and GA4. Founded by ex-Google Search and DeepMind people. If you're in e-commerce, the ROI case is unusually easy to make.

Scrunch — $300/mo floor, no self-serve demo, no trial. That is a commitment for something you can't test drive. The persona and funnel-stage filtering (awareness / consideration / decision) is genuinely useful for B2B teams. Monitoring-only; no optimization execution whatsoever.

Visiblie — Starter locks you to ChatGPT only. Full 8-LLM coverage requires Enterprise. The €499 one-time GEO Roadmap offer (credited back if you subscribe) is clever positioning but muddies the actual pricing story. Good free toolset if you want to evaluate before any commitment.

Rankscale — ~$20/mo makes it the obvious budget pick. Three LLMs only (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity), but a public REST API launched in Q1 2026 and the Looker Studio connector is live. Worth it if your goal is piping raw data into your own stack.

LLM Pulse — €49/mo, 14-day free trial, public API on every paid plan. The bootstrapped competitor to Profound that makes the enterprise pricing comparison uncomfortable. Weekly tracking by default, daily available on request. Claude, Meta AI, Grok, and DeepSeek are Enterprise-gated.

Search Atlas — The QUEST tool adds LLM visibility into a broader SEO suite. Makes sense if you're already paying for their platform at $199/mo. As a standalone GEO tracker, the missing query volume disclosure is a real red flag — you have no idea what you're buying.

Topify.ai — $99/mo, 100 prompts, 4 LLMs. The 7-metric scoring (visibility, sentiment 0–100, position, AI volume, brand mentions, intent, CVR) is more structured than anything else at this price tier. URL-level citation analysis and hallucination flagging are features you'd normally pay $249+ for.

Verdict

Topify.ai wins on value density in the $99–$199 bracket. URL-level citation analysis, a structured 7-metric scoring system, a public API on Pro, hallucination/inaccuracy detection, and a GEO execution agent that does actual optimization rather than just reporting gaps — that feature combination doesn't exist at this price anywhere else in this list. The closest competitor on tracking depth is LLM Pulse at €49/mo, which beats Topify on entry price and API access on all tiers.

Where Topify falls short is LLM coverage. Four models versus Profound's 10+, Peec AI's 7+, or Scrunch's 7 is a real gap. If your brand needs visibility in Grok, DeepSeek, Claude, or Meta AI, Topify's current roster won't get you there. There's also a pricing cliff: the jump from $199/mo self-serve Pro to $3,999/mo for managed services leaves nothing in between for teams that have outgrown DIY but can't justify a near-$4K monthly retainer.

For dev teams wanting to embed GEO measurement in a product or pipeline, Rankscale (~$20/mo + REST API) or LLM Pulse (€49/mo + full API) are the pragmatic starting points. Topify earns its spot for marketing teams that want a polished, end-to-end workflow without enterprise pricing — just don't go in expecting the LLM breadth of tools that cost three to five times as much.
