Your Car Is a Computer on Wheels – And Hackers Know It

Modern cars are no longer just engines and gears. They are rolling computers connected to the internet, running apps, navigation, and even Wi-Fi. But the same tech that makes driving easier also makes cars vulnerable to hackers.

This was proven in a shocking test involving a Jeep Cherokee. Security researchers connected through the car’s own systems and began sending commands remotely. At first, it seemed like a prank—the radio blared, the wipers smeared fluid, the air conditioning went wild. But then it turned serious.

The hackers reached the transmission. The driver suddenly lost speed on the highway. Trucks piled up behind him. No matter how hard he pressed the pedal, the car would not accelerate. Control had shifted away from the driver to someone miles away.
