I Built a Free Encyclopedia for Mobile App Development - 284 Articles, 10 Categories, Zero Paywalls

Last month I launched mobileapp.wiki - a free, structured knowledge base covering everything about building, launching, and growing mobile apps. 284 articles across 10 categories. No account required, no paywall, no ads.

Here's why it exists, what's inside, and how it was built.

The Problem

Learning mobile app development frameworks is well-documented. React Native, Flutter, Swift, Kotlin all have solid docs. But the business and operational side? That's a different story:

  • How does ASO actually work?
  • What are the real App Store rejection reasons in 2026?
  • How do you set up IAP receipt validation properly?
  • What's a good D7 retention rate for your category?
  • How do you handle GDPR compliance for a mobile app?
  • What changed with the Digital Markets Act?

The answers are scattered across dozens of blog posts (most trying to sell you something), outdated Stack Overflow answers, and expensive courses. There's no single place that covers the entire mobile app lifecycle in a structured, up-to-date way.

mobileapp.wiki fills that gap.

What Makes This Different

Structured, not scattered. Every article lives in a clear category hierarchy. Browse by topic or search across everything. 836 cross-links connect related concepts across categories.

Current. All articles reflect 2026 realities - iOS 26 SDK requirements (April deadline), Android API level 36 (August deadline), updated commission structures, AdAttributionKit replacing SKAdNetwork, Expo SDK 55 with New Architecture always-on, current store policies.

Practical. No fluff, no theory-only content. Articles include implementation details, benchmark tables, comparison charts, checklists, and real-world patterns.

Truly free. No "read 3 articles then subscribe" gate. No email wall. No premium tier. Everything is accessible to everyone, forever.

What's Next

  • More languages (expanding beyond current offerings)
  • Gaming category (mobile game monetization, LiveOps, ad mediation)
  • Community contributions (opening the wiki for external authors)
  • Automated content updates (tracking policy changes and keeping articles current)
