I have always been a big fan of the tutorials written on DigitalOcean. Like this one on DNS... digitalocean.com/community/tutoria...
The easiest way for me to learn it, was just try... With DNS you can easily change records if you find they are not correct, and while most places will state that it can 24 hours to propagate in my experience this happens in under a minute!
