Hey I'm Fajar Siddiq from Singapore, i'm learning JAMstack currently! ;) fun fact: professional yo-yo player
Hi Fajar 🙋🏻♀️. Ooh. How does one become a professional yo-yo player?!
how did you work on using your off hand to start doing the 2 hand tricks?
2 hand tricks - you can practice one by one, once you're comfortable with it then you can do both
Love to hear that 😍
Hi Fajar
Hello Everyone!! My name is Trace! I am an early career developer. Looking for my first paid position. I am currently comfortable with Python, related web frameworks, CSS, and HTML. I have worked in Javascript and the React library, though it has been some time, I am looking to refresh those skills. I am Looking to increase my language knowledge this year and will endeavor to learn Java. I have some project ideas I believe that ML and Natural Language Processing would be the best paradigms to use, though I need to do more research. I am an interest in AR/VR and mobile development. I currently looking to improve my problem solving skill set, as well as foundations in Algorithms, data-structures. Currently volunteering my time and skill set to Code for PDX
Hey, Trace!
I'm pulling up Code for PDX now, but I'm also in the area and would love to find ways to invest in and volunteer with my community with my newly acquired skill set (once I'm out of coding boot camp schedule). I'd love to hear more about your experience with them, how you've been volunteering your time with them, and any other local orgs you've worked with on a volunteer basis :)
Algorithms and data-structures are on my learning list, too, once we've gotten through a React module in my school!
Hope you're well!
Hi Trace! Welcome!
Sounds like you have a lot of cool stuff going on. Python is a great language. That's the first one I learned!
Best of luck!
Hello Trace, welcome!
You look so curious about "so much" thing.
More power to you!..
Hey everyone, long time Frontend/App developer, new'ish to DevTo (I've read my fair share of articles here).
I speak pretty fluent Javascript, along with frameworks within that ecosystem.
While I'm fairly good with React Native, I'm currently learning Dart/Flutter, SwiftUI & Kotlin to weigh out my options for the best way to create my startup's MVP app.
Looking forward to spreading some of my accumulated knowledge working with startups as well as large corporations as a developer, brush up on my technical skills, and writing updates on creating starting a Startup as a Technical Co-founder.
Fun Fact: I accidentally got into development after Lehman Brothers went down during the '08 financial crisis.
If you want to talk, feel free to hit me up.
Hi Reinaldo! I'd love to read about your experiences. I'm about to join a startup and would be interested to read about other people's experiences of it.
Hey, Reinaldo! 👋

I'm not worried)) I didn't even celebrate it :D
Hello, I am Saurav from India. I'm a second year electronics engineering student, trying to learn web and app development to be able to pursue software roles, and trying to do some Leetcode everyday. Any guidance from EE's who made the switch to software dev would be highly appreciated!
The thing i love most about dev is how one can make things you wish existed yourself.
Welcome Saurav! Super happy to have you here. Good luck in your journey!
We are in this together man, though I'm mechanical and second year as well
Cheers, dude!
I think the hardest part is understanding the intermediate level concepts like Greedy, DP, etc. The dev parts are amazing, and more about just how much time you spend on it. But these "interview prep" things are a bit more tricky. The grind is quite real. I'm at this "plateau" right now in the intermediate level stuff.
Hi, 🤝

I am also good with React, Angular, and Typescript. I use Boostrap and material-ui for react for the design system and have a good basic understanding to develop appealing modern UX.
I'm passionate about solving business problems using technology and developed good proficiency in delivering innovative business solutions.
Looking forward to contributing and learning from all of you!
Hi All, my name is Chris. I've always had a passion for programming, but life took me on another path. Dedicating my free time now to pick it up again, interested in web development, working through a .net certificate at the moment and self teaching myself PHP. Hoping that one day I can level up enough to switch careers to my original passion!
new to here. May us a bright future.
Welcome!
Hi!
I'm Alberth Florêncio, from Fortaleza (Brazil).
I'm a python enthusiast and data scientist (with a focus on machine learning algorithms).

Hi dev community! Leonard here from Singapore. Been out of technical programming & tinkering for several years and now trying to catch up. Currently learning python & vue as well as IaC with AWS. Hope to learn from & if possible share to the community here :)
H e l l o e v e r o n e, I am a computer science engineer, I started my coding journey in this pandemic and now joined a dev community for the first time. Looking forward to getting enough skills to land my first programming job.
Hey, all! Brand new to DEV, currently a web & mobile development student at Epicodus Coding School after making a career pivot from bar & events management. (Fun facts - yes, I make a mean beverage, and throw a kick*ss party in a non-covid world.)
As I'm getting into the second half of my school's learning materials, and heading ever-faster to an internship and then - gasp! - the real world again, I'm looking for more community in the industry.
Currently learning - in class: C#, MySQL, PHP. Out of class - Adobe Photoshop & XD, Sass. Attached is a recent project I'm working on while on winter break. The image is a digital painting in Photoshop - my very first foray with the application, in fact. I'm taking the image and using it as a backdrop for a web application that has animated weather elements like snow, clouds, and twinkling stars. :) Link with the finished project on GitHub soon!
Happy to be here, and happy new year, all!
Cheers!
Hello everyone (and happy new year),
I'm Goodal from France, currently project manager trying to learn front-end development skills (because , yes, I like to suffer ! :) ).
Just wanted to try this platform, let's see where it takes !
If you're in the React stack, take a look at TailwindCSS and Ant-Design. I made the mistake of writing the CSS for every component I made when I was learning front-end and it cost me a lot of time that could be spent having fun and developing cooler stuff.
Thanks Mikael Ill definitely have à look at both !
Hi, everyone!

Hello everyone, My name is Avishka. Selected Computer Science as my major this year and currently dabbling in a little bit of everything. looking for advices and chances to improve and polish my coding skills.
What's up devs!
I'm a desk officer in governmental employ transitioning to a position as a Frontend engineer. It's a fun and compelling journey. So much so that I like to listen to podcasts and read articles about coding whenever I'm away from practically coding myself.
If you write about JS, React, Redux, UX, security, or algos in general I might very well read it. (I may be particularly interested if it has something to do with running 🏃)
Take care all!
Hey everyone, I'm Ang and I am a conversion masters graduate, I mostly code in Java but I'm trying out some other things too and trying to find a job. I can unicycle and juggle; sometimes at the same time :)
Hey everyone! Happy to be here to gain more knowledge and insight on my journey to becoming a software engineer!
2020 was wild, but I’m thankful for it. I lost my job in August due to budget cuts. I took a job a month later that was paying me half the salary of my previous employer. It essentially threw my life upside down, but in doing that it made me research a lot of information and put me on a path to changing my career and exploring software engineering!
Currently working on the prep course for Springboard. It’s been very informative and beneficial thus far! Look forward to learning more and broadening my horizons!
hey all!

Hey, everyone! My name is Rodrigo and I'm from Brazil. I've been working with data science and machine learning before the hype (those days we called them 'applied mathematics' and/or 'applied statistics'.. 🤣). I used to code in unstructured ways focusing on the maths/statistics solutions, but now I'm trying to improve my code quality to work a little bit closer to software engineering. I'm restudying some Computer Science concepts and learning some web development. Don't hesitate to reach out 😄

Hello everyone !
Jayson here, 2020 made me engage with programmation. I've been on and off with @freecodecamp courses to the point of getting my Responsive Web Design certificate. Felt pretty good about this but felt like some purpose was missing.
So i just joined #100DaysOfCode to make a habit of daily coding and making progress through the year to come !

Greetings All,
My name is Dave Reese.
I'm a 54yr old newbie in DEV.
Although I've been working in I.T. since 2002.
I was Database Manager at a regional retail corporation here n WV for 3yrs, before that I worked as a contractor doing Dell Lifecycle installs for A.E.P.
Since then I consulted, mostly Admin and Maintenance stuff for a couple lawyers, and a styling health spa.
Anyways, I made an aborted attemp at getting started learning DEV so
I could transition into that area.
But, I had to move back to my farm which was off grid
Covid-19, and some other stuff happened, now I'm finally getting back to it.
I'm probably going back to Career Karma again also.
Looking forward to learning a lot from everyone.
Sincerely,
Dave Reese.
Hey everyone. My name's Steve and I just decided to learn coding 'cus I like it(and its fun lol).
Concretising ideas and solving problems using code is something I've been looking forward to being able to do for a long time now and I'm glad to finally getting at it. I've decided to learn first the web dev technologies(HTML,CSS,JS) and thereafter, well, who knows 😅.
I'm looking forward to getting advice from everyone here and being able to help as well.
Thanks and have a happy new year.

Hello, Everyone I'm Christian from the Philippines. I'm just exploring this site and I'm still in my 1st year of being an IT student. Currently learning web development which is mostly my interest and also Java which is the language that is taught in my school. And I'm glad I found this site where professional devs share different ideas and projects that is worth spreading. Thank you and have a nice day everyone!
Howdy yall! I'm Joshua Luppes, and I'm a newly trained full-stack web dev learning JS, Java, and React. When I'm not coding, I like to play Magic and skate Roller Derby. I'm usually pretty quiet, so I'm hoping that this kind of community will be a great place to exercise my voice and speak up! :D
Hey there,
This is Siva from London. I am a full stack developer and I love JavaScript. I am a failed entrepreneur as well :)
Came here to meet fellow developers, learn from them and share my learnings to them if possible.
Hello, community!
Hi, I'm Alex from San Francisco. I consider myself a student for life. I love to learn.
I'm currently learning some python machine learning because ML really interesting to me. I still consider myself a beginner in python since there's a lot to learn. It's hard for me to stay focused when I'm learning, there's always something else to learn and I spin away trying to learn new things. The hardest part is learning something all the way through.
I'm happy that this place exists where people can help each other out since no one is a master at everything, we're all just passing thru this thing called life.
I love traveling (except for now) and classical music (but also indie/alternative/synth pop/rock music on spotify). I play classical music on violin and piano for fun and just for myself. It's my therapy from looking at code and documentations. I also love to write screenplay scripts for fun on Final Draft, especially spec scripts (screenplays for the fun of it) of my favorite tv show: #Community. And I do my own stories for the heck of it.
I'm also currently setting up a youtube channel. I've noticed that if you want to get good at something (retaining all the knowledge/skills), you have to teach it to other people by teaching yourself as well. And by teaching other people, you understand more of the concepts.
Anyways, good meeting all of you!
-AJ
Hello, name is Harper! New to programming I am currently learning Python and considering the possible career paths in web development. I am a singer and guitar player, and prior to the pandemic was making a good living as a musician playing cruise ships. I still love performing, but I'm looking to pivot and apply my mind to the challenging field of computer programming.
While I do have a Bachelors of Applied Science I have very little background coding experience. I took a course called symbolic logic in the philosophy department, as well as a Problem Solving w/ Computers class, both of which I really enjoyed. It introduced me to many of the logical operators we use in programming so that is great to see!
nickolart2020 I’m a entrepreneur, Graphic designer, full time Artist, student in business, mom, wife, Homeschooling mom. I’m just trying to learn as much as I can about everything I encounter. I hope to meet new people, make new opportunities . Never stop learning.

Hello! I'm Uchechukwu, a final year student of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nigeria. I've always been extremely fascinated by the awesome things that can be created by writing simple blocks of code.
At the moment, I'm very comfortable with modern HTML, CSS and JavaScript techniques as well as having decent experience with the React JS library.
Passionate and an avid learner, I'm currently looking for collaborations and remote internships.

Hi, I'm Shekhar from India. Currently I'm beginner in Web Developer as I am learning Nodejs and yes, I can build some web pages with effects. Actually, when I was learning DOM and wanted to make something creative, I did not get idea to do what then, in some article I read that if you do not know what to make then. please see your surrounding and keep an eye on it and you will get an idea. Then, I started to keep an eye and I got an idea and that was that to make a birthday card for my friends using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript and I made it and that's gave me confidence that yeah, now I can use DOM comfortably.
Hey there...just created an acc.
Iam a beginner in node js
Hope to become a pro
