After that I took time off to finish recording an album I've had on my heart for about 15 years... and now I'm looking to create courses on web development and create some more micro-saas products.

Happy to elaborate, but I'm not 100% I know what you're asking with "how a SAAS company works".

I'll answer generally, but if this isn't what you meant, please feel free to clarify :)

Generally speaking, a SAAS company exists when people start paying (usually on a recurring basis - monthly or yearly) for a software you've built.

In my case, I figured out (through a ridiculously convoluted process) what niche I wanted to create software for, which was private equity real estate (a fancy way of saying real estate investors who buy big apartments and such). Without going into too much depth, the basic thinking in picking that niche was that:

a. I myself was interested in the niche and wanted to be a real estate investor
b. I knew they were making a ton of money, so I knew they'd be willing to pay a lot for software

Basically, I thought if I could build something they'd be willing to pay me $500-$1000/mo for, I'd only have to have 10 customers or so to pay the bills and then I'd be set for life...

So long story short, I personally cold emailed a bunch of people that we're in this niche, told them what I was doing, and asked them if they would be willing to hop on a call and answer a questionnaire about the challenges in their business.

A lot more people responded than I expected, but only a few of them were good "leads". Those few people (3 in fact) gave me specific feedback about some of the challenges they had running their business - and all three happened to have a common problem.

I emailed them all back, telling them I'd like to build a product to solve that problem, and asked for permission to stay in touch.

They all agreed, and all were happy to get on a phone call a week later when I had a working prototype of the software built (it was non-functional and just a HTML/CSS mockup with dummy data).

At that point I did screen shares with all three, they had feedback but loved it and were super interested in getting the software, so I asked them what they'd be willing to pay, they told me, and then I built it and stared charging them.

After that it's all a long learning process of running a business - but I had my first paying customers!

Yea, SAAS stands for Software As A Service. It's basically when someone pays monthly for a software.

Hello, my name is Mihail, 31 years old.

Many years ago I started to develop iOS/MacOS apps with ObjC, then Swift.
Currently I'm working as iOS developer almost 9 years in outsource company.

With every new project I understood that I'm copying a lot of code from previous projects every time for a simple screens, then removing unnecessary code from those screens. With a years of experience I'm doing it without thinking at all, like a machine. This led me to the idea that I need to automate this process a little bit - start creating ready screens from templates.

I've created repository XCode Templates where I started creating most recent templates that will save time while creating new screens for iOS/MacOS apps with default structure. Firstly this repository was private, but I made it public since I understood that it can be helpful for another iOS/MacOS developers.

Asking you to help me with ideas which templates should I create, which architecture to add during template creation (MVC/MVP/MVVM/VIPER), or just leave your thoughts regarding this idea in GitHub issues.

The bootcamp is moving extremely quick but it lit a fire inside me to keep learning, before this I was doing construction project management.

During covid I started to dabble with bots and scripts to help me purchase items I can resell. I leaned how to use the programs running them with proxy’s and putting them on separate servers. I wanted to learn how they were created so I took the leap of faith and entered the bootcamp
