Hello 👋 I came to DEV to share a post, staying because I'm impressed with the quality content and helpful people!
Fun fact: I'm currently listening to The Wheel of Time #3 and anxiously awaiting The Stormlight Archive #4 🙏
I've just joined today and this is like others the first post I've seen. Absolutely love the Stormlight Archive and I'm jealous you're going through the Wheel of time! Enjoy and welcome :D
Welcome, Harry! I've joined today, too! :D
Hello! I'm new now too! 👋😄
This is such a great community!
Thank you! I'm so excited! 😃
Started using Git and somehow came across the site looking for git commands "Essential git commands every developer should know" loved the content and started exploring the site and seems like a good community.
Hi Byron, I'm Katie, one of the basic moderators here on DEV.

Hello Byron! i just joined as well ! and i read the same article about essential git commands a few weeks ago as well when i discovered git! There is also the video series "git for poets" by thecodingtrain on YouTube! fun and so helpful.
youtu.be/BCQHnlnPusY
cheers and good luck to you 🤙🏾
Cheers nightcoder, will definitely have to watch them.
Always good to know more git 🙂
Hey Byron,
I just joined as well. Like you, I come across a lot of forums and tech communities while searching for things to help me as a software engineer. This seemed like a good community and I’m happy to talk with people and learn.
Hello there!
I am just curious about what's happening here :)
Working as full stack webdev, also interesting in mobile (recently wrote first app in NativeScript play.google.com/store/apps/details...). Have some Angular experience.
Welcome
Welcome! :)
Welcome!
Welcome aboard!
The app looks great ✨💯 could use a dark theme though.
Hello,
I'm a brazilian fullstack dev. I'm working with react, angular, java and nodejs nowadays. I like to read articles here to improve my knowledge and I'm trying to find a remote job with different cultures. I worked with Indians devs two years ago and it was fun.
I like hearing people embrace full-stack. I did not like being expected to specialize into a niche. Good luck on the search for remote work.
Welcome! Xapo is full of Brazilians and fully distributed (remote).
Thanks, I'll take a look. ;)
Nice!
Do you prefer front-end?
yes, but I've always worked with both
Hello everyone just joined the community because it offers great information about development.
I'm on my full stack web development journey as well as mobile development.
I wish for everyone success and all the best in their journey!
Full-Stack Web + Mobile - sounds impressive!
Hello! I just joined here too. I'm on a mission to learn something new everyday and I am sure that this place will help.
Hello Dameon!
Great to meet a fellow web development journeyer out on the trail! I wish you great success on your path!
👋 Hello, I'm a long-time-lurker, first-time-poster.
I'm currently a product designer @ Stack Overflow, doing UX design, front-end development, design systems, and (gasp!) HTML email development. I work remotely in New Jersey USA and love it.
I've long been a fan of the friendly vibe here and want to starting being more active. Cheers y'all ✌️
Haha, I strangely enjoy EDM cuts too. It's like solving a jigsaw puzzle
Holy, email dev?? I've done a bit of that last couple years. You must be a very mentally tough individual haha
Honestly I love it (and realize how weird that might sound 😂)
What's your favorite html email trick?
Probably getting email layouts to stack on mobile without using media queries. Or getting Outlook to do anything correctly 😂
I'm actually about to explore interactive email for the first time.
I've been browsing Dev for a while, but finally decided to join! I'm a software developer interested in TDD, JavaScript, C# and many other things.

Hello DEV cheerleader. 😊
Yeah, it' great place to learn and to be learned
Same here. Decided to take the plunge
👋I found this place while looking for a comparison of using JavaScript's "dynamic import" vs. "XHR request" to load non-JS files. I didn't find one, but I did find a useful article about using "dynamic imports" for JSON files in combination with Webpack.
Anyways, seems like a good place to learn! Happy to join your city.
Hello, everyone!
I'm a full-stack JavaScript engineer with about 10 years of experience and CEO at CreativeIT, a software development house in Belarus. Here I’m responsible for technical consulting, negotiating with existing and potential clients, and managing our team.
Being an active contributor to open source, I’m proud that many of our company’s products have a lot of stars on GitHub. On dev.to, I’m going to create my own blog, share experience and stories with you, and discuss ideas.
I hope, I'll become a great part of this community!
Nice to see you here bro )
Welcome!)
I came here because I lose a little part of my soul every time I use LinkedIn. A developer-oriented social network is a great idea. Looking forward to interacting with people who are passionate about making good software.
Had a chuckle at the dig at LinkedIn. I am also hoping someone better displaces them. :)
Before we get started would you like to network your soul with every ex-lover, former friend, and skeleton in your closet?
I've been lurking for a few months to get a handle on the community and posting quality (which is generally high, minus all the clickbait titles on how to npx CRA). I work as an engineer and am chiefly interested in frontend web technologies, building efficient and clean components, and meeting fellow devs who share my interests.
Praise the Sun.
We found the gamer here, Cap'n. 😆
Ok yeah that's worth a follow for me 😆 Welcome!
Praise the Sun! \o/
New member, tripped on this via a survey - always looking for new places to help me learn!
Hello! Welcome!!
Hello,
I’m not an experienced dev, I am currently obtaining my AS in IST at PSU. I hope to someday find success as a front-end dev. I live in Philadelphia, work as a cashier, and find joy in simple things.
Good luck! I’m also on my own learning path, it’s intimidating seeing all these heavily credentialed devs here lol
Hi Alamar,
Thanks! 🙂 Good luck to you as well! It is somewhat intimidating, but we’ll get there too at some point.
Good luck from a Penn State alum!
Hi Sean,
Thanks!
Hey there! Welcome! I'm excited to learn as well!
Hey, what's up all!
I'm a brand new dev in the dev community. I'm here to grab some really interesting articles about pretty much everything (just curious :D). I've already read a great article about
_.memoizeand there we go, I'm here!I'm mainly coding with NodeJS on server-side actually (I'm a junior dev with 1 year of exp BTW) but I would like to go further and go with C++/Go/Python on more complex things (especially AI ^ and BigData).
Hope gonna find out more interesting things here!
👋 Hii, I made a career shift and I'm mostly into full stack web development. I've been a long-time lurker here and decided to join this community and it's feels great.
Looking forward to learn, help and contribute in any way I can. 😊
I currently have no fun facts, maybe I'll share one when I encounter one? 😜😉
Hello!
My name's Anthony and I've come to DEV because I'm working towards becoming a better developer as well as maybe teach a few tricks I've learned.
I love using React and React Native, composing/producing music and also reading/learning about machine learning and AI.
Hi! Curiosity brought me (I just discovered Dev) and that’s probably what will keep me here too. I may not know exactly what I’m doing, but if I keep pushing buttons something usually happens. Nice to meet you all!
welcome to Dev.To!
Hi there!
I am newbie and knew dev.to by google search. When i searched about nodejs framework - Adonis, i got result from dev.to. And then i signed in here. I am loving with JavaScript and its frameworks.
Now i am working as web developer in a outsourcing company. In addition, studying mobile programming using ReactNative
Nice to meet you and looking forward to helping!
Hi there! Welcome to the DEV community. We are here to help.
Hi folks! 👋 👋
I produce a podcast for engineering leaders and I wanted to get more involved in the community so I could learn more and generate better discussions!
Would love to know: Who are some engineering leaders that you wish you could learn from as you grow in your career?
Hey All. I am new here. I am a front end developer. I have been coding for some years but I still make it a mission to learn something new everyday. I do live streams on Twitch to learn and teach at the same time. I'm all about developing yourself.
Hello, I' from China, a Front-End engineer at Bytedance(if you don't know this company, maybe you know about Tiktok ). Although what I do in the company is Front-End, but also I'm interested in Back-End technology.I hope I can communicate and learn more with you.
Hello I am sphrases from germany. 🙋♂️
I recently started working as a react developer and as the bugs started hunting me, i looked for solutions to my problems online and met dev.to.
I just loved the quality of the articles and the truly free content.
Hey all, I came to dev looking for a community of devs that I can learn from and provide what I know to. I’m a Pythonista, but I also enjoy Haskell from time to time.
I spend most of my time with data. Mining, storing, moving, analyzing, etc.
Fun fact: I know how to speak, read, write, in two other languages that aren’t English: Korean and Turkish.
Hey Everyone,
I just joined DEV after learning about it a couple days ago (thanks to the "Talk Python To Me" podcast). Lots of great content on here and I can't wait to learn and hopefully start contributing soon!
Hello! This week I am finishing up a JS and Rails API project for school. Next month onto React. Fun fact... I grow and forage for mushrooms in my spare time. VIVA LA FUNGI! Thanks and glad to be here!
Welcome to the DEV community. Enjoy your mushrooms!
Thanks!
Hi my name is Scott, I've been a full stack developer for 20 plus years. I came to Dev following a post I read about ButterCMS. After reading several threads here I found the content to be very interesting and the people to be very welcoming.
My hobbies include music, writing and listening to audio books. I am a stroke survivor and an amputee. Writing computer code helps me to keep my mind sharp. I am looking forward to getting to know the community.
Hi! I'm currently a Project Manager in eCommerce/Web dev, with experience in Waterfall and Agile but my actual technical skills and knowledge I've realized over my career are lacking. I've had a hint of experience with Java but nothing super foundational.
In 2020 I'm really going to lean into this community and hopefully gain the skills (and confidence) to have more technical abilities to further advance my career.
Other than that, I fill my time with my boyfriend, 4 cats and one corgi mix. I love to travel as well which feeds my need for collecting Starbucks 'You are Here' mugs. :)

Hey, I was brought here by one of the blog posts of Lydia Hallie, came to know about this beautiful community. As a full-stack developer myself, I'd like to divulge and engage in the world of cloud computing and help and get help in developing better applications.
Hi, I just started watching this website, which I came across after getting excellent content recommendations from Google. Hopefully, I can continue both getting and contributing interesting content from this community. Cheers!
Hi!
I have read a number of articles on dev.to and decided to finally register an account. I like learning new things, craft beer, and dogs. Lately, I've been ramping up on how to automate all the things and being a better technical lead.

Hello, I'm new here, referred from a thread on reddit in /r/AskProgramming someone mentioned this site is a great resource for asking more detailed programming questions. I wish I knew about it sooner.
Hey folks,
I'm a person full of curiosity and enthusiastic of learning new things along with sharing the knowledge which I possess, and this is what brings me to DEV.
I hope my this journey with you all guys will be super duper great.

Hi there Sid wassup these days? I'm here too 😂
Hi. I've been a lurker for a bit and finally decided to join. Have been doing the self-teaching route for a few years in the ocean that is JavaScript. Hoping to find that swim-coach some day 😉.
Excited to have found this great community and look forward to interacting with everyone
Hey guys! I joined DEV because I am currently a self-taught developer who doesn't have many friends who share my interests in code. I heard about this page and figured that it was basically twitter for developers.
I am currently working on building a node.js server that connects to mongoDB.
You just need to amp up the enthusiasm when you talk to acquaintances about esoteric programming concepts, while only a tiny fraction of the universe might care about the subject, any given person might empathize with your passion. ;p
I'm not graduated from CS, but I loved Web Development specially Frontend Development. I hope to learn everything new in my favorite field ^
I think that my fun fact that I posting this comment while sleeping on my bed 😂
Hi everyone. I'm new here, and I found this site because someone linked it on my university discord. I'm a bit new to software development and I'd love to learn more about it, specifically fullstack. I also like to read and write in my free time.
Hi Levente is here from Debrecen - Hungary 👋
I am java developer with a can-do attitude and 6 years experience. I have been exploring spring and react. In my freetime I do hacker challenges to improve my programming skills and do gymnastics at home.
I think that this is very good place to share knowledge.
Hello everybody! I found a really awesome post about cooperative vs preemptive multi-threading on DEV and then discovered even more awesome stuff. Most surprising however are the very constructive and positive comments. This is like a nerd dream come true! Anyway, greetings from Germany! 👋
Hello group. I've been following a DEV Community RSS feed for a while. Aimelssley noodling about on the periphery of coding for years. Got to a place now where some intentional learning would be a good idea. DEV seems a pretty friendly and helpful place to be part of. Wishing you all well.
Hey! I am a software engineer during the working days and a coffee geek during weekends :) Joined community due to the quality content I read here. Hope that things I will share will be also beneficial. Cheers!
Hi 👋 I end up here because google assistant somehow kept showing me quite interesting topics. At first I thought it was another blog site like medium where lots of people posted a lot stuff I still don't know after many years in this industry. But then a learned it was a blog/discussion board where real flesh-and-blood developers posts their experiences, frustrations and shortcomings and that made me feel like right at home. And so here I am hoping to enhance my knowledge with your experiences and also bring something in with future posts.
Hi I am Joseph, familiar with SAP ERP application ,SQL and started my journey in web application development using Java script, node js ..want to become full stack developer. Hope this community helps me.
Hey guys! It's Rey, I'm new here. Glad to have found a community for developers :) I'm busy learning web dev through The Odin Project.
Fun fact: I've recently started meditating with Sam Harris's Waking Up app and it seems great so far!
Hello! I've been studying .net/c# (extra focus on CMS, mostly Episerver) for almost 2 years now.
I'm from Sweden and currently working as an intern which is required for me to be able to graduate next summer.
I've been reading stuff here for almost a year and decided it was time to get an account!
Happy to be here! 😁
Hey everyone meow 👋,
tries not to sniff around I was told to post here to say I'm not a 🐱.
In all seriousness I recently got into writing, build a small newsletter and blog. While going around to find ideas and interesting articles I kept finding one from here, so I figured I'd join.
My goal ultimately for writing is to help others by sharing my experience or just ideas around, which I think would work well here. Looking forward to feedback and points of view from others in here
Hi Guys, I read books and online content on best practices in the web development. I found this community and the content is impressive. Looking forward to learn more from you guys
Special thanks to dev.to staff
Hello everyone,
Miguel here, from Venezuela living in Dublin. I finally will be able to rejoin the IT world and just decided I need to be immersed and surrounded by code and coders... It's a bit scary as I've had a bit of a break in my career thus a gap in my CV, but I'm working hard to learn as much as possible and next year hopefully it'll be my year. Besides Dublin is a great place for software engineers as IT companies are everywhere here.
BTW, Feliz Navidad.

Hello!! Goog Morning Everyone!
I am Sandro and I'm from Togo. I am a Web developer Fullstack JavaScript developer. I work for a national government agency. But I want most is to work as a #Consultant #Contractor #Freelancer. I felt in love with JavaScript and NodeJS just recently and I am working hard to master at a certain level the subject.
What brought me here is the quest for fantastics articles about JavaScript, NodeJS and Blockchain. I am also very interested of getting contacts and friends, people I can work with in the future.
Thanks for this great community, I am a re-emerging web developer after a 5+ year layoff from developing web application, and coming from asp.net web forms background. I am trying to learn all the "new" stuff. I am currently learning asp.net core Razor and MVC (same thing really), and the new serverless Blazor looks very intriguing
Hello Everyone,
This is Venkat and I am an Android developer for the last 7 years and started developing for iOS recently and released my first iOS app on App Store last week. I am looking forward to growing further with this awesome community.

Got a warm recommendation about dev.to and so far the content and the people exceed even the highest expectations. Really looking forward to learning, contributing and just e-meeting colleagues!
Hello,
I've been reading on DEV.to recently but finally decided to join the community itself, hope will be worth it!
I'm a Frontend Engineer (still 1,5 years in web dev field), mostly work using Javascript stack (ReactJS, NodeJS, GraphQL).
Interested on how long Javascript will live in this world :)
And my current interest is to learn React Native on 2020!
Hope will meet great people and knowledge here!
Hello people. I came here to learn new things and share knowledge with others. I want to be more active on blogs but mostly I stop because I am not very good with english grammar. Now I start to learn grammaer and be more active in world of programming. Thank you all for very good posts!
Hi all! Never learned English at school then I apologize if I hurt this language sometimes '
I'm following a formation to be a developer and learning by myself as knowledge as I found about databases. I think I am one of the most beginner here but I'm really pationate too!
HI friends! I came here looking for new tech/developer podcasts to break up all the econ and stats and political ones I already subscribe to. I am excited to find another outlet for web dev blogs and content!
Hello everyone, I just finished my training programm in C#, HTML5 and CSS, and I'm in love with web development and visual studio. I randomly found this society and I'm amazed by the people here and very glad that I found a comunity where people like me can find help and feel like they are at home. (Sorry for bad english if there is some 😁)
Hi. I have a little experience in all those technologies too.
Don't be afraid to ask questions. We are a community of coders like you.
Thank you so much! I really enjoy reading all these interesting and educating posts here 😁
Hi Guys, I was reading a post in medium medium.com/better-programming/im-a... and decided to join the community. I'm a newbie in web dev but enthusiastically wanting to learn more particularly cross-platform development.
Hello 👋 I came to DEV as Its for Developers by Developers and that's how it has to be. I focus on Docker, Kubernetes world, DevOps, Cloud (AWS at present).
I cycle to work daily, love trekking in Himalayas (at least once in a year), attend Tech Meetups to stay updated with tech industry.
Welcome to the community!
Hello 👋I joined DEV because i have always found good resources here.
I am a backend developer. A singer and dancer when i'm bored or too excited.
I could also be caught making special delicacies. I love fried plantain 🤓
My urge to learn, improve and explore in the domain of software development has brought me here. I have seen useful and attractive posts from DEV (dev.to), on software development tools, programming languages and making projects coming up on Google News every day. I could not think of any better place and hence joined DEV.
I came here by accident after googling for factory pattern in C# and then finding this post: dev.to/gary_woodfine/how-to-use-fa...
I am at the point of my development career when after 10 years I feel like I know nothing and it frustrates me. How come I don't know so much! Like these factory patterns. Why do I still not know this? Seems as in the last 6 months I am constantly running into things I don't know, deciding to learn it, and as i am learning it I run into something else I don't know, deciding to learn it and as I am learning it I run into something else I don't know.... It is an infinite loop at this point. Is it just me? haha. Hoping to fall in love with this community and stay here forever! :)
Hi, it seems I need to join to follow people but hey this is the way fun things happen. I'm a developer at Microsoft but before you throw tomatoes at me, I love open source, Linux, etc etc. Here to learn and maybe share my mistakes so you don't make them
What's up everyone? Been a dev for a long time. I have a heavy background in the manufacturing space and have been writing .net since attending the .net launch event in Portland back in 2001, I believe. I've had my own business for like 12+ years. Which sounds cool but it is also lonely. I work remote and by myself. Come to think of it, I don't have a single friend who actually writes code. The beginning of 2019, my wife and I sold our house, purchased a 5th wheel trailer, and now travel the country. We are currently in Oklahoma City. With my desk at the back and a huge window, I've written code with some amazing views this year. But, it is lonely so I figured I'd join a community. This one seems pretty cool.
Hello there!
I am just curious about what's happening here :)
Working as data architect primarily on AWS, also interesting in machine learning(recently wrote first AI app in Python). Have some Scala experience.
I'm Final year student studying from datta meghe college of engineering studying computer science has good grasp over data structures, Algorithms and Python language. As I started to learn data science on my own from coursera for professional course have a great knowledge to deal with data sets and dataframes. Currently also studying gcp from qwiklabs.com and also selected as udacity scholar for Intel Edge AI.
Hey there,
I'm here to grow as a Web Developer. I built an app + side hustle thanks to detailed blog posts and YouTube tutorials, so I'm planning to blog about some of the things I build for my app and learn more about best practices or cool enhancements I could make.
I built the front end of my app using Next.js and Reactstrap, plus some custom flexbox stylesheets with SASS. The RESTful API is an Express.js server that uses postgreSQL for the persistent layer and Passport for User Auth. I've got these deployed on a DigitalOcean ubuntu droplet, so I'm hoping to contribute content for any of the previously mentioned technologies.
Hello i came to this community for my open source subject i will contribute some knowledge as i can and i hope to learn in this dev Hello i came to this community for my open source subject i will contribute some knowledge as i can and i hope to learn in this dev community😁
My name is JC. I was just told that I can never go back to work in the oil patch because I have blown my knee too many times. And workers comp has now told me I have to go back to school to make a similar kind of wage. So they are paying for me to become a developer. I am not sure what kind yet but I am excited because I have always been interested in programming and design
