Master Video Copywriting with the AIDA Framework

Let’s be real: most tech videos fail because the script is a mess of specs with zero structure. You’ve got the 4K B-roll and the perfect key light, but your retention graph looks like a ski slope. If you want to keep viewers glued to their screens, you need a framework. Enter AIDA.

AIDA is a classic copywriting model repurposed for the YouTube era. It stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action. Here is how you use it to stop the scroll:

1. Attention
This is your hook. You have three seconds to justify your presence in their feed. Don’t start with "Hey guys, welcome back." Start with the stakes or a polarizing result.
Example: "I replaced my $3,000 MacBook with a $200 Chromebook for a week, and I’m actually keeping it."

2. Interest
Now that they’re listening, feed them the "why." Share a surprising stat or a relatable pain point. Keep the pacing fast and the information dense.
Example: "Most of us only use a browser 90% of the time, yet we’re paying a 'Pro' tax for power we never touch. But there’s a massive catch with the file system."

3. Desire
Tech is about the feeling of a solution. Paint a picture of the end result. Make them want the workflow or the hardware you’re discussing by showing the benefit, not just the feature.
Example: "Imagine a setup where your battery lasts three days and you never hear a fan spin up, even with 50 tabs open. That’s the reality of this lightweight OS."

4. Action
Don’t just fade to black. Give a clear, singular command.
Example: "If you want my custom ChromeOS optimization list, grab it at the link below and hit subscribe for more minimalist tech builds."

Stop guessing and start structuring. AIDA turns your technical knowledge into a narrative that people actually finish.
