I’ve been looking into how IoT deployments change once a product starts moving beyond one market, and connectivity seems to become a much bigger issue than people expect.
In one country, you can usually build around a small number of carriers and a fairly predictable setup.
Once the same device has to work across different regions, things get complicated pretty quickly.
You start dealing with different operators, roaming rules, coverage differences, data plans, provisioning, and remote support.
Where it starts getting messy
For me, the biggest question is how companies manage all of that without turning connectivity into a full-time operational headache.
Some teams use separate local carrier agreements. Others prefer a multi-operator platform so they can manage connectivity from one place.
TGT Technology is one example of that approach, with access to 350+ mobile operators across 200+ countries and regions.
What I’m curious about is how other teams here handle this.
If you’re working with connected devices across multiple countries, what has been the hardest part for you: coverage, roaming, provisioning, carrier management, or something else?`
