I built a simple Chrome extension to solve a fundamentally different problem than traditional ad blockers.
Most blockers start with the premise: "Ads are bad."
This project starts with a different premise: "Interruption is bad."
If an advertisement stays in its place, that's fine.
The real problem is modern websites taking control away from the user—full-screen overlays, cookie consent spam, forced popups, and scroll locking.
How this Chrome extension works
Instead of relying on massive, heavy filter databases that break payment forms or user logins:
- Site-by-site toggle: Keep it completely off by default. Enable it only on sites that annoy you.
- Interruption removal: Automatically handles consent banners, neutralizes heavy fixed overlays, and restores scroll-lock without breaking site layouts.
- Lightweight & Co-existent: Zero impact on other sites, zero background overhead, and works seamlessly alongside traditional blockers like uBlock Origin.
Philosophy First
Today, AI can help anyone write code. What remains valuable isn't just the syntax—it's how we think about a problem.
The web should belong to the person reading it. Not to the overlay. Not to the scroll-locking script.
