There is this free course on Coursera called "Learning How to Learn" and my advice would be for all code newbies to take that course. Being a dev is a never ending loop of learning and building. You don't stop learning new things. Learning how to be a better learner helps so much. I'm only halfway through and it's been an amazing help.
It talks about how the brain converts things to your long term memory, how to better learn complex problems, and stuff like that.
