How did the company you work for adopt ChatGPT?

The new AI tool ChatGPT is out there, though with such a powerful tool comes great responsibility.

The main challenge is for companies and corporations that don't want secrets, passwords, codebase, Physical Health Indicator (PHI), medical data, or any other information to be leaked to OpenAI's ChatGPT.

The web is full of articles and blog posts about the challenges, google for - ChatGPT regulation challenge.

How does the company/organization/corporation you work for adopt ChatGPT? Do they block access to chat.openai.com? Have you been instructed not to use it at all? Are you aware of the risks of copy-pasting organization data when asking ChatGPT questions?

I would love to hear your thoughts and discuss this topic, fire at will.

Cool topic!

I've used it while at DEV to help me think through various writing prompts. For instance, when thinking of questions for the Mod of the Month series I put out every month sometimes I'll ask ChatGPT to spit out a few interview question ideas just to get me rolling. Granted, I do a lotta workshopping with those questions and don't just let AI do all the writing for me, haha.

That's a somewhat individualized experience and so may not be exactly what you have in mind. As an org, I do think we're somewhat careful about how we approach these things. We want our community to be mostly human (see our Guidelines for AI-assisted Articles on DEV) but we're also pretty excited about ChatGPT and the efficiency gains it can give us as a tool.

Thanks for sharing! Has anyone in the company ever talked with you about ChatGPT? Like how to use it right, what you shouldn't share, or even a basic training? (If it's too invasive feel free to share the bare minimum)

Sort of... We've definitely had discussions about ChatGPT, and different members of the team have discovered and adopted the tool for certain workflows that they then share to the rest of the team.

For instance, earlier today I was being trained on how to use it to create postgresql queries that I could then run in our analytics platform Metabase to uncover data. This was particularly cool to me because I'm not a dev, but it helps me to break down what is going on in a SQL query, adapt it, and get what I need out of it.
