Shared inboxes are built to filter. Whoever reads info@ is usually sorting support tickets, invoices and spam, and a cold sales note lands in the same pile as the spam.
A named founder or admin email changes a few things:
- One person reads it, so there's a real chance of a yes, a no, or a forward to the right colleague.
- You can write to their situation instead of to a company in general.
- A no is still useful. You learn fast and stop guessing.
It doesn't make a weak message good. It just means a good message reaches someone who can act on it.
If you do outbound, what reply rate difference have you seen between role inboxes and named contacts?
