Anthropic recently wrote about creating in-house source control: they went from ~2,500 merged changes a day in May to 30,000+ in September, and git-era infrastructure built for humans became the bottleneck for agents.
So I had Claude build an open-source take on it: Graft.
Benchmarks vs git on a 100k-file monorepo
- Sparse checkout: 12x faster
- Concurrent land throughput: 82x
- grep: 29x faster, no clone needed
- Storage: smaller than
git gc --aggressive
Try it

Feedback on the design and benchmarks is very welcome!
