TL;DR: A PoE RJ45 jack (母座) keeps the standard 8P8C pinout — PoE only changes which pins carry power, via the transformer centre taps.
- Mode A: power on data pairs — pins 1,2 + 3,6.
- Mode B: power on spare pairs — pins 4,5 + 7,8.
- 4PPoE (802.3bt Type 3/4): all four pairs, pins 1–8, powered at once.
- Key point: power reaches the wire through the jack transformers' centre taps → the magnetics make PoE possible, not the housing.
- Spec the magjack for the right current tier (VOOHU: up to 4PPoE).
