Data-Centric AI Competition on Hugging Face Spaces π₯π₯π₯
Are you ready to challenge the status quo in AI development? Then join Voxel51βs first-ever Data-Centric AI competition onΒ Hugging Face Spaces, focusing on the often-overlooked yet crucial aspect of AI: data curation - Check out the blog post for details.
The Challenge π§
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to curate a subset of our provided dataset that achieves two seemingly contradictory goals:
- Reduce the overall size of the dataset
- Maintain or improve the performance of a YOLOv8m object detection model
Dataset & Resources π§°
- A dataset of 65,986 images
- 43 object classes across categories like clothing, people, transportation, and more
- FiftyOne, an open-source tool for dataset curation and analysis. YOLOv8m model from the Ultralytics Model Zoo
Prizes π
First Place: $1,000
Second Place: Top Tier Swag Package
Third Place: Mid-Tier Community Swag Package

Streamline Computer Vision Workflows with Hugging Face Transformers
Check out this practical, powerful integration between FiftyOne and Hugging Face's π€ transformers library.
This collaboration makes it easier than ever to apply state-of-the-art transformer models directly to computer vision datasets β and it's all open source!
- Direct compatibility: Apply Hugging Face transformers models directly to FiftyOne datasets
- Comprehensive task support: Image Classification, Object Detection, Depth Estimation, and Segmentation
- Multimodal: Zero-shot/open vocabulary Image Classification and Object Detection
- Video Inference: Run inference directly on the frames of videos
- Embeddings & Visualization: Visualize transformer model embeddings with dimensionality reduction techniques for insightful data exploration.
- Similarity Searches: Use transformer models to index your data, turning unstructured into searchable (including semantic search)
FiftyOne Computer Vision Datasets Come to the Hugging Face Hub
FiftyOne integrates with the Hugging Face π€ Hub so you to push datasets to, and load datasets from, the Hub with ease.
This integration enables the loading of Parquet formatted datasets into FiftyOne with 1 line! This simplifies the process of sharing datasets with the machine learning and computer vision community, and allows you to easily access and work with many of the most popular vision and multimodal datasets available!
