Daylight Saving Time Ends November 1: How to Fix the Time on a Wear OS Watch (Pixel Watch and Galaxy Watch)

Clocks in the US fall back one hour at 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 1, 2026. A Wear OS watch normally gets its time from your phone, so it should change by itself. But if you've switched off automatic time, or your watch spends time away from the phone, it can end up an hour off. Here's how to check, following Google's Wear OS Help page and Samsung's support page for Galaxy Watch.

Where the time settings live on Wear OS

Google's steps for Wear OS watches:

  1. If the screen is dim, tap it to wake up the watch.
  2. Swipe down from the top of the screen.
  3. Tap Settings. If you don't find it right away, swipe left.
  4. Tap System, then Date & time, and choose your time settings.

Google notes these steps may vary based on your manufacturer, device and software version.

Choose which time your watch shows

Google lists three options:

  • Same time as your phone: turn on Automatic date & time. This is the best choice for the time change.
  • Local time: turn off Automatic date & time, then turn on Automatic time zone.
  • Manual: turn off Automatic date & time and Automatic time zone, then set the date, time or time zone yourself.

If you've ever set the time manually, Saturday night is a good moment to switch back to automatic.

Set the time zone by hand

  1. Open Settings, then tap System > Date & time.
  2. Scroll down and tap Set time zone.
  3. Tap the time zone you want.

Google notes that if you can't tap Set time zone, your watch already shows the time zone you're in; turn off Automatic time zone to change it.

Galaxy Watch: a different path, and a catch

On Samsung's Wear OS watches the menu is under General:

  1. From the watch's Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Swipe to and tap General, then tap Date and time.
  3. Select the option you want to update.

Samsung's catch: on Wear OS models you can only set the date and time by hand when the watch is not connected to a phone. While it's paired over Bluetooth or the Galaxy Wearable app, the phone's time syncs automatically. If Date and time is grayed out, change the time on the phone instead.

Switch to 24-hour format

  1. Open Settings, then System > Date & time.
  2. Scroll down and turn on Use 24-hour format.

A weekend checklist

  • Saturday: make sure the phone sets its time automatically, and the watch is connected.
  • Sunday morning: compare the watch and the phone.
  • Still an hour off: restart the watch while it's near the phone and let it sync.
  • Thanksgiving trip: with automatic settings on, the watch follows your phone into the new time zone.

Troubleshooting

  • Settings icon missing: swipe left on the Quick Settings screen.
  • Set time zone can't be tapped: turn off Automatic time zone first.
  • Galaxy Watch won't let you change the time: it's paired, so the phone controls it.
  • Pixel Watch menus look different: Google says steps vary by manufacturer and software version.

Going further with WatchLux

WatchLux is the watch face app I built, and once the clock is right, the face showing it deserves some attention. It has over 750 faces on both watchOS and Wear OS, rebuilt as animated faces for Wear OS 6 and later, including updated Pixel Watch and Galaxy Watch models. You can browse the styles at customwatchface.com. All artwork is created with generative AI tools.

WatchLux is free to download and preview; subscription unlocks the full catalog and removes ads.

My team specializes in advanced generative AI art and video, and WatchLux and ScreenLux are where we apply it to the watch and the phone.
