👏 Well said Helen. If 2020 has taught be anything, trying to work, teach kids, care for family, hobbies, all from the exact same place is really hard. Turning off work at the right time is healthy, but so hard to do if you don't set yourself up to do so.
One thing I started doing this year is a weekly retro email. With the dynamics of 2020 we cut quite a few meetings, (standups/retro) being some of them. I have kept the same email chain going to my team each and every Friday. It helps me quite a bit to reflect back each week and remember that I was actually successful getting things done. I can also look back at the last few weeks/months to see longer term progress.
