Growing Older with Faith: Yaser El-Waly in Perth

Growing Older with Faith: Yaser El-Waly in Perth
A Perspective Built Over the Years
Yaser El-Waly is someone who always discusses Islam in a serene manner. Being a Western Australian man, Yaser El-Waly resides in Perth, and he is now a fifty-year-old man. He has been spending much time learning Deen while trying to implement it into his daily practices. While time has impacted his understanding, it has not altered the foundation upon which he has based his understanding of responsibility.
There is no need for him to distinguish between religion and everyday life. For him, everything is interrelated because family life, employment, friendship, and serving people are all obligations towards Allah.
Learning That Continues
In Yaser El-Waly’s opinion, religion education is not an event that has an end point. He thinks there is always an opportunity for people to develop themselves spiritually, to understand Islam more deeply and implement this knowledge in real life at any period of time. Reading, thinking and discussion should be present; however, they should bring positive results and improvement of oneself.
Patience becomes part of Yaser’s message in the context that it was experienced by him in his life and not merely taught somewhere else. These are the cornerstones of Yaser’s teaching. Instead of looking for quick solutions, we should look at our motivations, assess our responsibilities and have humility towards our problems.
Giving Time to Others
Alongside his personal study, Yaser El-Waly remains involved in teaching, mentoring, and charitable work within Perth's Muslim community. He sees these activities as connected rather than separate. Knowledge, in his view, should encourage service, and service should be carried out with sincerity rather than the expectation of recognition.
He also gives high importance to family values. Revering parents, staying connected with one’s relations, and living a household life full of love comes out very easily in many of his talks.

A Faith That Remains Constant
Yaser El-Waly is someone whose mindset has been consistent for those who have interacted with him over a period of time. What he adheres to while dealing with people in the outside world also manifests in how he lives his personal life.
For this West Australian man, Islam provides more than religious instruction. It offers a steady framework for leadership, discipline, charity, humility, and community service, continuing to shape his life in Perth as the years move forward.
