Disclosure: I built and run Alysion Field Guide, an independent English fan companion for Digimon Alysion. Not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Bandai. Digimon and related names are trademarks of their respective owners. This is pre-launch information checked October 29, 2026 (UTC+8) — card pools, restrictions, Digidex counts, and breeding rewards can change when the app ships.
Two topics keep showing up in Digimon Alysion pre-launch chats: how to build a legal deck, and what “Digidex / breeding” actually means before anyone has a live client to verify. I keep those notes on separate deep pages so known Bandai statements stay separate from guesses.
Deck building: 50 + eggs, then a plan
Bandai’s Alysion system page (as summarized on the Field Guide) specifies:
- Exactly 50 cards in the main deck
- Up to five Digi-Egg cards in a separate egg deck
- Up to four copies of the same card number (different numbers can share a Digimon name)
Always re-check the in-game deck builder and current restrictions once available. Digital restrictions can differ from tabletop habits.
The deck building basics page’s practical advice:
- Pick a coherent plan — an evolution line or a group of effects that work together. Read digivolution requirements from lower levels upward, then support that goal.
- Keep early plays — enough lower-level Digimon to start, plus higher-level cards worth building toward. Balance Tamers and Options against the Digimon you need to draw; there is no universal ratio that works for every deck.
- Change a few slots at a time — after matches, note whether you lack an early play, cannot find a compatible digivolution, or keep drawing expensive cards. Test small edits.
- Treat starter lists as learning tools — wait for the real card pool, crafting, and economy before spending resources as if a fan list were permanent.
About external decklists
Sites such as Alysion.gg publish deck guides rooted in paper BT-8 / EX-02 era lists. Their own framing (as cited on the Field Guide) says those lists do not yet account for Alysion-exclusive cards. Useful as historical reference — not confirmed launch meta and not guaranteed legal Alysion lists. The Field Guide does not reproduce those lists; compare any external deck against Alysion’s own pool and rules.
Related reading on colors (so you do not force an incoherent rainbow pile on day one): card colors explained. For the combat loop your deck is trying to win, keep beginner rules open — shared memory and security checks decide whether a “good curve” actually attacks profitably.
Digidex & breeding: two different uses of the same word
The Digidex and breeding guide starts with an honest quick answer: the store listing describes raising Digimon and a Digidex with more than 100 entries. Exact launch mechanics and rewards remain to be verified in the released game.
What Bandai has said (labeled as pre-launch description)
- The Digidex is presented as a collection to complete.
- “More than 100 entries” is a store description, not a verified day-one obtainable count.
There is no complete evolution chart or Digidex reward table on the Field Guide yet — on purpose. Inventing a roster would create false farming targets.
“Breeding” in battle vs “raising” as a feature
Alysion uses breeding in the card battle rules: during the breeding phase you can hatch a Digi-Egg or move a Digimon with DP into the battle area. That is a rules procedure.
Separately, store copy describes raising Digimon as a game feature. Do not assume battle-area breeding rules explain every timer, evolution requirement, or Digidex reward in the raising feature. They share vocabulary; they are not automatically the same system.
Still unknown (and labeled that way)
As of the October 29, 2026 check, the guide has not verified:
- Final growth timers
- Evolution requirements for the raising feature
- A complete roster
- Whether particular Digidex entries award particular cards
When the game launches, the plan is dated observations vs official statements — not a silent overwrite of speculation.
How to use these two pages together
| Question | Page |
|---|---|
| Is my deck legal size? | Deck building |
| What should I build toward first? | Deck building + card colors |
| What does the breeding phase do in a duel? | Beginner rules + Digidex page’s “two uses” section |
| How many Digidex entries / breeding rewards at launch? | Digidex & breeding — currently: store claims only; wait for live verification |
