PS5 emulator for PC: AnyPS5, KytyPS5, SharpEmu & Prosperity — evidence checklist (Nov 4)

Disclosure: I independently built and operate anyps5games.com, an unofficial reference about PS5-on-PC projects and game reports. This article is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, or by the authors of AnyPS5, KytyPS5, SharpEmu, Prosperity, or related forks. Project and console names belong to their owners.

Searching “PS5 emulator for PC” mixes four different problems: research runtimes, a relinker workflow, official PC ports, and Remote Play. The November 4 hub pages start from published release evidence, not playable badges.

Links covered in this note

Prior Medium/Dev.to pieces already covered older AnyPS5 refreshes and scam warnings — this draft targets the new emulator hub + AnyPS5 deep page URLs above.

Public project status (source-checked, not endorsed)

From the live emulators hub (sources checked 4 November 2026; no gameplay tested for that review):

Project What the hub says it is Release note cited on hub
AnyPS5 Relinker + host libraries; converts toward a host executable — not a separate emulator process. Windows/Linux runtime targets; macOS relinker alone ≠ macOS game support v0.1.4 · published 2026-10-30 (UTC)
KytyPS5 C++ runtime based on Kyty; Windows/Linux primary; macOS experimental (Rosetta 2 + MoltenVK) Build 2026-11-03-eecd982 · 2026-11-03
SharpEmu C# accuracy/infrastructure focus; main targets Windows/Linux x64; macOS in a separate repo v0.0.7-pulse · 2026-11-01 (checked release: no macOS asset)
Prosperity Uses original system modules; Linux AMD64 prioritized; Windows planned. Different from “prosper” v0.0.1 · 2026-10-03 (one Linux AMD64 .deb — not a Windows installer)

Conversion success, shader percentages, and published archives do not prove a named retail game is playable. Match every report to repository, tag/commit, OS, and GPU.

AnyPS5 deep page: relinker ≠ completed playthrough

The AnyPS5 page restates the workflow: relink a PS5 executable into Windows PE or Linux ELF, supply host libraries, run game CPU code on the PC; graphics still go through a Vulkan shader recompiler. Successful conversion ≠ gameplay.

Evidence hygiene called out on the page:

  • Upstream identity used in notes: boykopovar/AnyPS5 (verify on GitHub yourself).
  • Archived official table (checked mid-October on the site) marks Dreaming Sarah playable on Windows (PPSA02929); DOOM shareware homebrew is a weaker in-game row, not retail DOOM.
  • Community notes for titles like Silksong / Astro Bot / Demon’s Souls stay separately labeled — not automatic Playable marks.
  • Stars/forks snapshots and newer tags do not by themselves prove compatibility improvements.
  • Requirements summarized on-page: x86-64 with a listed AVX/FMA/etc. feature set; Vulkan 1.1; Windows direct-memory mapping can demand large RAM+pagefile headroom.

Install only from the official GitHub release (relinker + matching library/prx archive). The site hosts no warez, ROMs, BIOS, firmware, keys, or mirrored game files.

“Working” means three separate facts

Copied as a checklist from the hub’s framing:

  1. Identify the build — repo/fork, tag or commit, OS, GPU.
  2. Identify the result — boot vs menus vs controllable gameplay vs completion.
  3. Keep the uncertainty — title ID, update, test date, duration, known faults. Never borrow a result across projects.

Legality & download risk (short)

Ownership of a disc or digital license is not blanket permission to download someone else’s copy, share protected files, or bypass access controls. Rules vary by jurisdiction — the site is not legal advice.

Stop at paid unlocks, surveys, password walls, browser-extension demands, or instructions to disable antivirus. Do not enter PSN credentials into unofficial download sites.

If you only want to play on PC: check the publisher’s official PC edition first, or PS Remote Play from a PS5 you own. Neither is local PS5 emulation.

Directory blurb (short reuse)

Independent PS5-on-PC reference: AnyPS5 relinker status vs KytyPS5 / SharpEmu / Prosperity release evidence, with explicit “no gameplay tested” limits and no ROM/BIOS/firmware hosting. Unofficial; not affiliated with Sony or project authors.
