From 130 to 3,000 Pages: How We Scaled a Baby Name Site's SEO in 25 Days

We launched BabyNamePick.com 25 days ago as a simple baby name discovery tool. Here's how we went from a handful of pages to nearly 3,000 indexed URLs — and the strategy behind it.

Day 1-7: Foundation

We started with:

  • A homepage with a name generator
  • 19 category pages (Greek Names, Nature Names, etc.)
  • 5 blog posts
  • ~130 sitemap URLs

The focus was on technical SEO fundamentals:

  • Schema.org JSON-LD on every page
  • Proper meta titles/descriptions
  • Clean URL structure
  • XML sitemap + robots.txt

Day 8-14: Content Explosion

We shifted to aggressive content creation:

  • Expanded from 19 to 50 category pages
  • Wrote 25+ blog posts targeting long-tail keywords
  • Grew name database from 200 to 1,500+
  • Built 130+ external links

Day 15-25: Individual Name Pages

The biggest improvement: every name got its own URL page targeting "[name] meaning" queries. This took us from ~130 to ~3,000 sitemap URLs overnight.

Current Stats (Day 25)

  • 53 categories, 61 blog posts, 2,459 individual name pages
  • ~3,100 sitemap URLs total
  • 15 external articles, 130+ backlinks
