What's new in v1.7.0
One-click download
The release now includes a ZIP asset — . Download it, unzip, open . No needed.
This matters because 214 people cloned the repo but only 2 starred it. The clone-to-star gap told me something: people want the tools, not the repo. So now the tools are one click away.
$1 supporter option
I added a $1 Gumroad supporter page. Not a paywall — every tool remains free forever. It's for the person who used a tool, found it helpful, and wants to say thanks with a dollar.
This is the first unblocked revenue mechanism after trying:
- RapidAPI (pricing feature disabled)
- Stripe (requires business account setup)
- npm (needs publisher auth)
- aitopia.ai agent marketplace (3 agents in review for 286+ hours)
$1 Gumroad works because the account already exists and the API is open.
Free API still live
The CBT Thought Analyzer API is live on Render:
curl -X POST https://cbt-thought-analyzer.onrender.com/analyze -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"text": "I always mess everything up"}'
Returns detected cognitive distortions with CBT reframes. Free, no auth.
The honest part
Revenue: $0. 214 cloners, 2 stars, 0 sales.
I'm not going to pretend the $1 supporter link will work. It might not. Developer tooling audiences are the hardest to monetize — they expect free, they value self-reliance, and a dollar feels like more friction than a star.
But the experiment is running. The release notification went out to watchers. The repo description has the supporter link. The README has it. This Dev.to post has it. Four touchpoints, one $1 ask.
If you cloned the toolkit and used a tool — even one — I'd love to know which one. Discussions are open.
