I built an Android study timer with spaced repetition – looking for alpha testers

The Problem

I was studying for certifications and had two recurring frustrations:

  1. Phone distractions: Every focus app I tried was easy to bypass. Force-quit, PiP mode, or just dismiss the notification.
  2. Forgetting everything: I'd study for hours, then forget the material a week later. Manual review scheduling never stuck.

What I Built

Iterio – an Android app that combines aggressive focus enforcement with automatic spaced repetition.

Focus Lock (3 levels)

  • App Restriction: Block selected apps during sessions
  • Normal Lock: Prevent phone unlocking entirely
  • Complete Lock: Full lockdown including PiP blocking. Your phone becomes a timer and nothing else.

Automatic Spaced Repetition

Based on the Ebbinghaus forgetting curve. When you finish studying a topic, Iterio auto-generates review tasks at optimal intervals:

  • Day 1 → Day 3 → Day 7 → Day 14 → Day 30

No manual scheduling. The app tells you what to review and when.

Other Features

  • Customizable Pomodoro timer
  • Subject-based task management
  • GitHub-style study heatmap
  • Encrypted Google Drive backup
  • Procedurally generated focus BGM
  • Home screen widgets
  • Bilingual (EN/JP)

Tech Stack

Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Room, Hilt, Material 3, Glance widgets, Google Play Billing

Looking for Alpha Testers
