I have spent the last few months building CalcProMaster, a free library of 1200+ online calculators: loan EMI, mortgage, compound interest, BMI, percentage, GPA, unit conversion and a lot more.
Here is what actually mattered while building it.
The constraints I set for myself
- No signup, no paywall, no usage limit.
- Every calculator must show the formula and the full working, not just a number.
- Everything runs in the browser, so there is no per-calculation server cost.
That last point sounds like a technical detail. It is really a product decision. When the calculation is free to run, you stop rationing it, and the site becomes genuinely useful instead of a teaser for a paid plan.
Showing the formula is the whole product
A calculator that only returns an answer is a black box. You cannot check it, you cannot learn from it, and you cannot reproduce the result.
So every page prints the inputs, the formula, and the step by step working next to the answer. The EMI page shows the monthly rate, the number of payments and then the full amortisation table, so the first row can be verified by hand: https://calcpromaster.com/guides/emi
The same applies to health maths. The BMI page explains the formula and where the healthy ranges come from, instead of just labelling you: https://calcpromaster.com/guides/bmi
What this means for SEO
For a tool site the useful unit is the intent, not the page. Each calculator targets exactly one question, so the page can answer it completely: the answer, the method, and the edge cases. That is a much better match for search than a blog post that talks around the topic.
It also means internal linking does real work. Related calculators sit next to each other, so someone looking at compound interest naturally lands on savings goals and retirement next.
Where it stands
The whole thing is free and needs no account. If you want the reasoning behind the numbers rather than just the numbers, the entry point is https://calcpromaster.com and the guides live under https://calcpromaster.com/guides/
Happy to answer questions about the maths, the build, or the SEO decisions.
