Hey π
Hope you're having a good week so far. This edition I loved the deep dive into the State of CSS 2025 results, with :has() rightly in the spotlight.
You will also find smart takes on real-time dashboards, motion that serves the product, and handy bits from debugging minified files to tidier animation starts.
See you in the next one.

Of all the features included in the survey, :has() is both the most-used and the most-loved one.
Element Size Results - Chrome and Safari both get very close to 225-1 (33,554,431), with Safari backing off from that by just 3 pixels, and Chrome by 31.
Debug minified files with "//# sourceURL="
I've followed Harry since my early years and he aways has super useful tips. Learn how to debug those minified files in browser dev tools.
Thereβs no such thing as a CSS reset
CSS resets are a technique nearly as long lived as the modern CSS era itself, stretching all the way from the CSS Zen Garden days to inclusion in mass-market current-day tools like Tailwind.
Animating from scale(0)
usually feels "off".
Try animating from a higher initial scale instead (0.9+). It helps it feel more gentle and elegant.
