As developers, we rename things constantly. A variable name for JavaScript, a function name for Python, a slug for a URL, a constant for an env file — and every one of them wants a different letter case.
I kept fixing capitalization by hand, so I built a small free tool for it: Online Case Converter.
What it does
Paste any text, pick a case, and it converts in one click. There are 20 options in one place:
- Everyday cases: Upper, Lower, Title, Sentence, Toggle, Proper, Alternate, Random
- Developer cases: camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, dot.case, Train-Case, CONSTANT_CASE
- Clean-up tools: Remove Spaces, Remove Enter, Reverse Text, Remove Emoji, Remove HTML Tags
A few examples:
-
best free online case converter→bestFreeOnlineCaseConverter(JavaScript) -
Hello World→hello_world(Python) -
Best Online Tools→best-online-tools(URL slug) -
max retry count→MAX_RETRY_COUNT(env variable)
Why it runs fully in your browser
Nothing is uploaded or stored anywhere. Your text never leaves your own machine, which matters when you are pasting code, variable names, or anything half-private.
Two touches I found genuinely useful while building it:
- You can select only part of your text and convert just that part, leaving the rest unchanged.
- You can paste a whole column copied from Excel or Google Sheets and convert it in one go, then copy or download the result.
Try it
It is free, no sign-up: onlineconvertercase.com.
If you use it, tell me what case I am missing — I would rather add a case developers actually need than ten nobody uses.
