Why Hire AI Dev Planner Over Other Software Agencies in 2027?

In 2027, hiring a software agency is no longer just about who can build a website.

Every agency now says it does AI. Every agency now promises speed. The difference is what actually ships, who owns it, what it costs in total, and whether the team is still there when real users start breaking things.

That is the test this article uses. Not logo walls. Not buzzwords. The launch, the ownership, and the 90 days after it.

What changed for founders in 2027

Three things changed the hiring decision:

1. AI is now the product, not a feature.
Founders are not asking for a website with a chatbot added on. They want AI products, AI agents, customer portals, and SaaS platforms where AI does real work — triage, drafting, search, automation, and support. An agency that treats AI as a plugin will build you a demo. You need one that builds it into the workflow, the data model, and the handover.

2. Speed matters more, and so does staying power.
A fast MVP that has to be rebuilt in six months is not fast. It is expensive twice. In 2027, the winning build is the one that launches in weeks and still scales in year two, without a rewrite.

3. Ownership is now a fundraising issue.
Investors, acquirers, and your next hire will all ask the same question: who owns the code? If the answer is unclear, your launch slows down exactly when it should speed up.

Judge every agency below against those three tests.

The other options in 2027, honestly assessed

The big enterprise agency
Built for large buyers, compliance-heavy systems, and long procurement cycles. Excellent if you are an enterprise. For a startup, it usually means a higher price, slower decisions, and your launch as one ticket in a very large pipeline.

The large offshore delivery firm
A very large team can be competitively priced, but you are buying into a machine. You are less likely to work directly with the founder, get a tight MVP scope quickly, or get founder-to-founder accountability for your launch.

The premium US or UK boutique
A premium boutique can be excellent — and expensive. Public Clutch listings in October 2026 showed typical boutique rates of $100–$199 an hour. Those bands change, so confirm a current quote, but the maths has not changed: at that rate, a startup's runway can disappear before it has a single paying customer. You are paying for a high-cost base, not necessarily for a better MVP.

The AI-demo agency
This is the new 2027 trap. A beautiful AI demo, a slick video, and no production system behind it. No data model, no permissions, no warranty, no handover documentation. Ask to see the working software, the repository, and what happens after launch — and walk away if there is only a demo to show.

The marketing-led agency
Strong at traffic, SEO, and growth for an existing business. If your main problem is "I need a SaaS product, an MVP, or an AI product built from scratch," you want a product builder first, not a marketing agency that also builds websites.

None of these are bad companies. They are simply built for different buyers. AI Dev Planner is built for startups.

Why AI Dev Planner is the better choice in 2027

1. Founder-led, not handed off

You work with a small, senior team led by founder and lead engineer Obaid Tariq. No long chain of account managers, no explaining your vision five times to five different people, no junior-only delivery.

In 2027, when AI tools can generate code fast, that senior judgement matters more, not less. Someone has to decide what to build, what to leave out, and what will still work when users arrive.

2. AI products, built to ship — not just to demo

Websites, web apps, SaaS platforms, customer portals, and AI products built with a modern stack including Next.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL — so your MVP does not need to be rebuilt the moment it starts working.

That stack choice is deliberate. It is type-safe, it scales, and your own developers or another team can take it over. Before handover you receive setup and deployment documentation, environment configuration, and a walkthrough.

3. MVP-first pricing you can budget for

Published bands, not an open-ended meter:

  • SaaS MVP: $25,000–$65,000 over 8–12 weeks
  • Robust MVP: £25,000–£45,000
  • Customer portal: £60,000–£120,000+ over 16–24 weeks
  • Internal tools: £40,000–£80,000+
  • Maintenance: typically 15–25% per year

You know what is included, what is not, and what it costs in total — before you commit. Your fixed figure comes from a written scope agreed on a free 30-minute scoping call. For a US project, agree the invoicing currency, payment schedule, and who bears transfer and conversion fees in the contract. See the full pricing bands, which are indicative ranges only, not a quote.

You can also get an indicative range first with the MVP cost calculator.

4. You own what you pay for — in writing

Your code and IP are assigned to you in a signed written assignment. That matters when you raise, sell, hire your own team, or move providers.

A "work made for hire" clause alone does not usually give you ownership of software written by a contractor who is not your employee. Ask any agency for the exact wording — and have a US attorney review it if you are a US founder. AI Dev Planner also recommends the repository lives in your GitHub or GitLab organisation from day one, with hosting in a US region of a cloud account you control, for US projects.

Ask every agency for this in writing. Walk away if they cannot give it clearly.

5. A scope-first process that survives time zones

AI Dev Planner is based in Islamabad, Pakistan, and works remotely worldwide, including with clients in the UK, EU, US, and the Middle East. No UK office, no US office, and no claim to either.

That does not mean a US project cannot work — it means it has to run on writing. With US clients, AI Dev Planner agrees a short live slot at kick-off, and everything else moves through a dedicated Slack channel, written decisions, and a recorded video walkthrough of working software every two weeks. Work handed over at the end of the US day can be reviewed before the next US morning, but only if the handover is written well.

Be wary of any remote agency that promises seamless all-day US overlap without explaining who shifts, and when.

See how we work for that process in full.

6. Launch is the middle, not the end

Launch is when real learning starts. AI Dev Planner's published approach includes a 60–90 day warranty after launch covering defects in what was delivered, plus ongoing support scoped separately — so the first 90 days after launch are planned, not improvised.

That is the difference in 2027 between a team that ships a demo and a team that ships a product: the second one is still there when users find the edge cases.

7. Remote-first, without boutique cost

No high-cost office base to pass on to you. Senior, startup-focused delivery at a price that leaves runway for marketing, hiring, and iteration after launch.

That runway is the point. A cheaper build that eats your marketing budget is not cheaper. A faster build that needs rebuilding is not faster.

When a bigger company is actually the better choice

Credibility means saying this too. If you need a 500-person delivery team, large-scale regulatory compliance, people on site every day, or a SOC 2 report from every vendor, a larger firm may fit better.

To be plain: AI Dev Planner does not claim a US office or US entity, a SOC 2 report, or HIPAA compliance. If your procurement requires any of those, or only US-based personnel can access your systems or data, AI Dev Planner is probably not the right partner — and it is better to know that before scoping than after.

But if you are a startup founder, that is not your problem yet. Your problem is launching something real, learning from paying users, and living to build version two.

The 2027 hiring checklist: ask every agency this

Use the same questions for every team you shortlist, including AI Dev Planner:

  • Who exactly will build my product, and will I talk to them directly?
  • What is the exact first version, what is fixed-priced, and what is deliberately left out?
  • Do I own 100% of the code and IP, in a signed written assignment?
  • Where does the code live, and who controls hosting and accounts?
  • What do we see every two weeks, and what is covered by warranty?
  • How are decisions recorded across time zones?
  • What do you not claim — SOC 2, HIPAA, US presence, or otherwise?

AI Dev Planner's questions to ask a web development agency checklist works for any team you shortlist, not just AI Dev Planner.

If an agency cannot answer those clearly, walk away — no matter how big its logo wall is, or how good its AI demo looks.
