How to Remove the Background from a Photo for Free (No Signup)

Cut people and objects out of any photo with a clean edge — right in your browser.

Whether it's a product shot for your store, a profile picture, or an ID photo, removing the background is one of the most useful photo edits. Most tools either cost money, watermark the result, or upload your photo to a server.

The free tool

PixelFix Remove Background uses a person-segmentation model that runs entirely on your device. Upload a photo, and it produces a cut-out with feathered edges — transparent PNG or on a white/blue/red background. Nothing is uploaded.

How it works

  1. Open the background remover
  2. Drop in a photo of a person (portraits and product shots work best)
  3. The model finds the person and cuts them out automatically
  4. Adjust edge feathering if you want softer edges
  5. Export as transparent PNG, or swap to a plain background

What makes it good

  • Private — the cut-out runs locally with a 243 KB model, no upload
  • Free to try — first cut-out is free
  • Clean edges — feathered so hair and edges don't look chopped

Use cases

  • E-commerce product photos with clean white backgrounds
  • Profile and avatar pictures
  • Passport/ID photos (pair it with a passport photo maker)
  • Fun edits — put yourself on any background
