I Built 3 Free Browser Tools That Never Upload Your Files
Photo editing, PDF tools, certificates and book tools — all running 100% in your browser. Nothing you drop in ever leaves your device.
I got tired of every "free" online tool quietly uploading my files somewhere. Photos of family moments, client work, passports, business documents — I don't want copies of those sitting on someone's server. So I built three small tool sites where everything happens locally in the browser, and I want to show them to you in case they solve the same problem for you.
1. Why "no upload" actually matters
It's easy to wave this off as a marketing line, but the difference is real:
- Client work and pre-release shots shouldn't be stored on a third-party cloud just to run a filter.
- Passports, ID documents, contracts are exactly the files you don't want on an upload server.
- No account means no data trail — no "you signed in 3 years ago and here's your folder" surprises.
The browser can do almost all of this with the Canvas API. So why send files anywhere?
2. The photo toolbox — PixelFix
Nine tools, one bookshelf:
- Compress Images — shrink JPG/PNG/WebP in batch. This one is completely free, no catch.
- Remove Background — clean person cut-outs, feathered edges.
- Passport Photo Maker — official US/visa/China/EU sizes with a head-size guide.
- PDF Tools — images → PDF, merge PDFs, PDF → JPG.
- GIF Maker, Watermark (batch), Document Scanner, Restore Photos — same local-first principle.
3. The certificate maker — Certificate Maker
Teachers, coaches, HR and event folks make certificates constantly. This has 26 real templates (not clip-art), a certificate-type selector that fills in professional wording, and print-ready PNG export. First certificate free; all templates + watermark-free for a one-time $9.99.
4. The author toolkit — KDP Launch Kit
For people publishing on Amazon KDP: a royalty calculator, ISBN converter, description HTML formatter, keyword checker, and a generator that turns one book topic into 5 titles + a description + all 7 keyword slots.
5. The honest part
- PixelFix — Compress is fully free; the other 8 tools each give one free try, then a one-time $9.99 unlocks all.
- Certificate Maker — first certificate free, then $9.99 one-time.
- KDP Launch Kit — all tools free for 3 uses, then $9.99 one-time.
No subscriptions anywhere. And every single tool processes your files in the browser — that's the whole point.
If you're privacy-conscious about your files (or just tired of signup walls), these are worth a look. I'd genuinely like to know which tool you'd use most — and if there's a browser tool you wish existed that doesn't.
