Off Grid AI Meetings: a list of recorded calls with summaries, made on the computer.

Meetings in Off Grid AI Desktop: every call recorded, transcribed and summarised on the computer.

How we ranked

Every app on this list records without a bot joining your Zoom, Teams or Google Meet call. Then we ranked them on four things:

  1. Where your audio goes. Is the call transcribed and summarised on your computer, or sent to a cloud AI?
  2. Limits. Minutes, meetings or history you lose on the free or base plan.
  3. Price over 3 years. For one person, on the cheapest plan that removes the limits.
  4. Computers. Mac, Windows and Linux.

1. Off Grid AI Pro

What it is. Off Grid AI Desktop (OGAD) is a free, open-source (AGPL-3.0) AI app for Mac (Apple silicon), Windows and Linux. Pro adds Meetings. It sees a Zoom, Teams or Google Meet call and records two tracks: the call's audio and your microphone. When you stop, a local Whisper model writes the transcript and a local text model writes the summary, the decisions and who owes what. You can also press Record meeting for a meeting in a room.

Best for. Client, legal, medical or deal calls you'd rather not send to an AI company. People on Linux.

Price. $79.99 once for lifetime access, a limited-time price down from $119, or $7.99 a month. One key covers up to 5 devices. No account.

The catch. Your computer does the work, so it needs to run a speech model. Most Apple silicon Macs and recent PCs can, and the app shows which models fit before you download. There are no shared team spaces.

Meetings are one part of Pro. The same price adds a local memory of your screens, mail and documents, actions you approve in Gmail, Linear, Jira and Notion, God (a chief of staff with a morning brief and meeting prep), Reflect, Vault, Clipboard, Sync between your devices and dictation.

2. MacWhisper

What it is. A focused transcription app for the Mac. It records Zoom, Teams, Webex, Skype and Discord calls without a bot, and transcribes on your Mac or with remote models you connect.

Best for. Mac users who want a transcript tool, not an assistant.

Price. A free version, and Pro for €64 once.

The catch. Mac only. It doesn't turn calls into a memory or follow-ups. See Off Grid AI vs MacWhisper.

3. Krisp

What it is. Noise cancellation with a meeting assistant on top. It has no bot by default, with an optional bot for Zoom. English is transcribed on your device.

Best for. Noisy rooms. Krisp removes background noise, voices and echo in both directions, which Off Grid AI doesn't do.

Price. Core is $16 a month, or $8 a month billed annually, after a 7-day trial.

The catch. The 15 other languages go to Krisp's servers. See Off Grid AI vs Krisp.

4. TwinMind

What it is. A meeting memory for your computer, phone, Chrome and Apple Watch, with no bot.

Best for. Talks on the move. Its free plan has unlimited transcription, summaries and questions.

Price. Free. Pro is $11.99 a month and Max $29.99 a month, billed yearly.

The catch. Transcripts live in its cloud, and its privacy policy lists OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq, ElevenLabs and Fireworks AI for AI and speech-to-text. See Off Grid AI vs TwinMind.

5. Granola

What it is. The notepad that made bot-free notes popular. It listens to your computer's audio and writes notes next to yours.

Best for. Teams that want shared Team Spaces, on any laptop.

Price. The free plan keeps 30 days of history. Business is $14 per user a month.

The catch. Its security page says transcription uses Deepgram and AssemblyAI and summaries go to third parties such as OpenAI or Anthropic. See Off Grid AI vs Granola.

6. Notion AI Meeting Notes

What it is. Meeting notes inside Notion's desktop app, with no bot.

Best for. Companies already on Notion Business. Notes land in shared pages right away.

Price. Included with Business, $20 per member a month.

The catch. It needs Business or Enterprise, stops at 10 hours a day per user and doesn't work offline. See Off Grid AI vs Notion AI Meeting Notes.

7. Bluedot

What it is. A bot-free recorder that runs as a Chrome extension or an app.

Best for. Computers where you can't install apps, and sales teams that share notes.

Price. Basic $14 and Pro $20 per user a month, billed annually.

The catch. The free plan ends after 5 meetings, and recordings are stored in AWS. See Off Grid AI vs Bluedot.

8. Jamie

What it is. A bot-free notetaker for macOS, Windows, iOS and the web, with notes kept in Europe.

Best for. In-person meetings from a phone, and notes sent to Salesforce or HubSpot.

Price. 10 free notes a month, 30 minutes each. Pro is €39 a month, billed annually.

The catch. Your audio is streamed for transcription, and it is the most expensive app here over three years. See Off Grid AI vs Jamie.
