Microsoft Copilot Autopilot is an agent that keeps working without prompts. Microsoft's announcement says it works "while you sleep or your attention is elsewhere." It lives in your company's Microsoft 365 tenant, with its own identity and its own computer. It is in private preview.
Off Grid AI Desktop (OGAD) Pro is a chief of staff you can use today. It runs on your own computer, keeps your memory on your own disk, and acts only after your yes. Your employer's tenant is not involved, and you pay once.

Checked 30 October 2026 against Microsoft's Copilot announcement and its Scout page, which now says "Microsoft Scout is now Autopilot." Microsoft has published no Autopilot price, so this article has no cost table. Off Grid AI's price is a limited-time lifetime offer, down from $119.
Who can get Autopilot today
Microsoft's announcement said Autopilot would expand to private preview at the end of September 2026. Its Scout page lists what access needs:
- Your organisation enrols in the Frontier program.
- IT sets an Intune policy and an opt-in attestation.
- Users with a GitHub Copilot license can then install it.
Neither page describes a version for personal Microsoft accounts. So for most people, Autopilot is not yet something you can turn on yourself.
A work agent is your employer's agent
Autopilot is built for the company. It has a company identity. It follows the company's Purview labels and data-loss policies. Its memory of how you work sits in the company tenant. That is the right design for IT. It also means the agent and what it learned belong to the tenant, not to you.
OGAD Pro is yours. The memory is a folder on your disk. It covers every app on your screen, not one vendor's suite. If you change jobs, your notes on how you work can stay with you. Check your employer's rules before you capture work data on any device.
What God does on your computer
God is the chief of staff inside OGAD Pro:
- A morning brief. Your next meeting, the decision it needs, and the task that blocks it. Each fact has a source.
- Meeting prep. Notes from the last meeting with the same people.
- What people owe you. Promises from calls and mail, with who said it.
- Routines. A weekday brief, a review before a meeting, or an approvals digest, at the times you set.
- Rules. Instructions God always follows, such as "never send anything to Acme without asking."
When God wants to send a reply or create an issue, it goes to Actions and waits. You approve or reject it. Every approval is logged. See How to review pending AI actions in a daily brief.
God is one part of Pro
- Memory. Your screens, meetings, mail and documents become one local memory you can search and ask, with sources.
- Meetings. Calls recorded without a bot, including Teams, transcribed and summarised on your computer.
- Actions you approve. Replies, issues and docs through Gmail, Linear, Jira and Notion.
- Reflect. Your time by project, app and person. No timers.
- Vault, Clipboard and Sync. Encrypted secrets, a searchable clipboard, and your devices in sync, device to device. No server keeps a copy.
All of it is in the same $79.99, on up to 5 devices.
Where your data goes
With local models selected, OGAD reads your memory and writes the brief on your computer. We run no server that sees it.
Connected services still use the network. Reading a Microsoft or Google account talks to that account. If you pick a remote model, the context for that answer goes to that provider. The app shows which model is active.
When Copilot Autopilot is the better pick
Be fair to yourself. If your company runs on Microsoft 365 and wants an agent with audit, identity and policy controls, Autopilot is built for that. It can join Teams channels and follow up on threads as a colleague. OGAD is a personal tool, not a tenant-wide service.
Autopilot is also cloud-hosted, so it keeps working when your laptop is closed. God's routines run inside OGAD, so your computer must be awake and the app open. OGAD also needs a machine that fits a good local model. The app shows which models fit before you download.
If your company is in the preview, try it for team work. For your own memory, your own brief and your own approvals, run OGAD beside it.
Switch in fifteen minutes
- Download OGAD for Mac, Windows or Linux.
- Get Pro and enter your key in the app.
- In Models, download a text model that can use tools.
- Open Integrations and connect one account you are allowed to use.
- Open God and ask for a brief of your next three hours, with a source for each fact.
- Add it as a weekday routine in Scheduled tasks when it helps.
