Your phone can send an image prompt to your own computer and receive the result over local Wi-Fi. OGAM (Off Grid AI Mobile) provides the prompt and image view; OGAD (Off Grid AI Desktop) runs the downloaded image model.
After the apps and model are ready, this route can work without internet as long as the local network still connects the devices. You do not need to put the same large image model on the phone.

Prepare one working desktop image model
Install OGAD on the computer and download a supported local image model. Generate one image on the desktop first. This checks the model, required files, and available memory before you add the phone connection.
Install OGAM on Android or iPhone. This guide uses the current OGAM beta 114 release and desktop beta 122. Keep the computer awake with OGAD running.
Remote image generation uses the core model-server route. It does not require Pro device sync merely to send an image request. Conversation sync and computer-task controls are separate workflows with their own requirements.
Connect over your local network
Put the phone and computer on a network that allows them to reach each other. A guest network may block that communication even when both devices can browse the internet.
In OGAM, open Settings → Remote Servers. Use Scan network with Off Grid AI Desktop selected, or choose Add manually if discovery does not find the computer.
For a manual entry, set Server name and Address using the computer's actual local address. The OGAD gateway normally uses port 7878. An example is http://192.168.1.50:7878, but only use that value if it is really your computer's address.
localhost on the phone points back to the phone. It does not identify your desktop. Allow local-network permission if the phone requests it, then test the connection before you try to generate an image.
Select the image model supplied by the computer
In the server editor, inspect Remote media and choose the available Image model. Use the model list returned by OGAD rather than inventing a model name. Save with Add server or Update server.
Then open OGAM's image-model selector and choose the relevant entry under Remote models. Check the Remote label and the server name. Text-model selection and image-model selection are separate; choosing a remote chat model does not by itself select a remote image engine.
If no image model appears, return to the desktop and check that its model is downloaded and available. A connected server with a text model is not automatically an image-generation server.
Generate one image from the phone
Use the chat's explicit Image Gen mode and enter a clear prompt:
Generate an editorial illustration of a green reading lamp on a wooden desk, warm evening light, simple background, square composition, no readable text or logos.
Keep OGAM open and the devices connected while the request runs. The computer performs the generation and returns the result. Inspect the actual image in the conversation rather than relying on a text reply that says it was made.
Start with one image and settings the desktop has already handled successfully. Sending the prompt from a phone does not reduce the memory required on the computer or guarantee a particular generation time.
Save and inspect the returned result
Open the generated result on the phone and use the available save or share controls for your intended destination. Check that the image is present and usable before you leave the network.
For a second version, change one element of the prompt, such as lighting or composition. A new text prompt generates a new image; it does not guarantee that every object stays identical to the previous result.
Reference-image editing depends on the selected model and endpoint. This guide establishes text-to-image generation and does not claim that every remote image model supports every edit operation.
Test the internet-free setup correctly
First complete a request while your normal network works. Then test with internet access unavailable while keeping the local Wi-Fi connection active. Both apps and all required model files must already be installed.
Turning off Wi-Fi entirely breaks the route between the phone and computer. A local router can still connect the devices when its internet link is down, but only if its local networking remains available.
A remote connection from another location is different. If you reach the home computer through a private remote network, that route may need internet at both ends. Do not describe it as the same offline home-network setup.
Stop a remote image job from the phone
In mobile beta 114, canceling an image request also asks OGAD to cancel the owned Desktop job. Cancellation during prompt preparation or transfer should stop that request from saving a late image into the chat. Keep the connection available while the cancel request is sent.
If the connection breaks before OGAM receives the Desktop job ID or cancellation confirmation, inspect the job on the computer. A stopped phone indicator alone cannot prove that a disconnected host stopped. Wait for the old job's result or confirmed cancellation before starting the same expensive request again.
Read the Desktop memory warning on the phone
When OGAD refuses an image request because of its memory estimate, OGAM can show that Desktop warning instead of only a generic failure. The relevant memory belongs to the computer running the model. Free memory there, select a smaller compatible model, or reduce supported image settings before retrying.
If the dialog offers a memory override, read it as an exception to the estimate, not as a way to add RAM. A request can still fail. First confirm one working image on Desktop, then repeat that same setup from the phone.

The prompt leaves the phone and goes to the selected server. For this guide, that server is your own computer running a local image model. Choosing a public endpoint or a desktop configuration that forwards to cloud AI changes that boundary.
Get OGAM and prepare OGAD with one local image model. Connect the devices, make the reading-lamp image, and verify the saved result before you depend on the setup without internet.
