You can get meeting transcripts with speaker names on your own computer with Off Grid AI Desktop (OGAD). Record a Zoom, Google Meet or Teams call and OGAD tells the speakers apart by voice after the meeting. Your turns read You, the others get names, and no bot joins the call.

Everything runs on your Mac, Windows PC or Linux machine. Meetings are part of Off Grid AI Pro.

A recorded call in Meetings. The transcript, summary and decisions all come from your own computer.

Why speaker names matter

A transcript without names is a wall of text. You cannot tell who promised the deadline or who pushed back. Most tools that fix this send a bot into your call and process the audio on their servers.

OGAD does it on your computer, after the call, from the recording it already made.

How OGAD tells speakers apart

  • You. OGAD learns your voice from your own microphone, recording by recording, so your turns read You.
  • Everyone else. The open pyannote Community-1 model splits the other side of the call by voice into Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on. It runs on your computer's processor.
  • Names. When the summary is written, OGAD names people from the conversation, such as "Thanks, Priya". Anyone it cannot name, you can.

An hour-long call takes a few minutes to label.

Set it up

  1. Install Off Grid AI Desktop 0.0.56 or later and turn on Pro.
  2. Download a speech model in Models, then Transcription, if you have not already.
  3. Open Meetings. OGAD starts recording Zoom, Meet and Teams calls when it detects them. For any other call, or if it has not started, select Record meeting.
  4. Join your call as usual. When it ends, OGAD transcribes it on the computer and labels the speakers.

Read and fix the transcript

Select the meeting in Meetings.

  • Speakers lists everyone in the call. Click a speaker to give them a name, and the whole transcript updates.
  • The transcript follows the recording. Press play and the sentence being spoken is highlighted. Click a sentence to jump the recording to it.
  • Chat about this meeting opens a chat beside it. Ask "What did Sam agree to?" and the answer comes from this call.
  • Re-transcribe runs the meeting again, for example after you switch to a different speech model.
