A forgotten master password does not have to mean losing access to your saved logins. OGAD (Off Grid AI Desktop) Pro can recover an existing vault with its saved 24-word recovery phrase. You also need the vault file and its matching recovery data. The phrase unlocks retained data; it cannot rebuild a vault that has been lost.

This guide covers an existing vault that OGAD still recognizes on your Mac. Recovery runs locally and does not require an AI model. Initial app installation and Pro activation have separate connectivity requirements.
What must you keep before you need recovery?
When a new vault is created, OGAD attempts to set up recovery and shows Save your recovery phrase. Record the 24 words in order and store them privately outside the vault. Then select I've saved it — open vault. The clear phrase is shown once; do not assume the app can reveal it later.
Recovery needs all three pieces:

Keep a backup that preserves the vault and its recovery data together. A phrase written on paper is not a backup of the entries. The ordinary Projects/chat backup does not replace a vault-data backup.
Reset the password and open the vault
- Open Vault in OGAD. At the locked-vault screen, choose Forgot password? Recover with your phrase.
- Enter the 24 words in their original order.
- Enter a New master password and the same value in Confirm new password. The form requires at least eight characters; use a longer unique password.
- Select Reset password & unlock.
- Check that your expected entries are present. Lock the vault, then unlock it with the new password before you rely on it again.
Successful recovery changes the vault's password and binds its normal unlock to the current device. It also refreshes the local recovery data so that the same phrase can recover the newly protected vault. Keep an updated backup of both files after this change.
What if recovery fails?

Do not create a replacement vault to recover the old entries. Keep the existing files and backups intact while you identify what is missing. A new empty vault does not bring the old data back.
Moving to another Mac also requires restoring the retained vault and matching recovery data through an appropriate backup process. This password-reset form is not a vault import wizard, and copying only a vault database does not establish that recovery will work.
Treat the phrase as access to the vault
Anyone who has the phrase and required vault files can recover the contents. Do not put the phrase in a chat or send it to support. If you use Copy phrase, it goes through the ordinary clipboard; clipboard history and synced clipboard tools need their own care.
Try OGAD's Vault with a sample entry before moving important logins. Save the recovery phrase and retain the matching vault data from the start, so that a forgotten password has a clear recovery path.
